Beckett online price guide is terrible, almost all of the cards i attempted to look up did not have an image and 4 cards was not listed at all. With cards of today having multiple types of the same card (refactor, atomic refractor, speckled refractor. Pink, blue, red etc). I find it next to impossibleto know i and looking at the correct item without an image. I discovered these problems on my very first search. I requested cancellation and a refund and was told they do not refund for any reason. So i paid $150 for a useless price guide. If you want a cards market value, DO NOT USE BECKETT!
Tip for consumers:customer service is also very poor.

How can there be trust.is this guide.if it's able to pull bull$#*! on its collectors like this. I used to have trust in Beckett. Only no longer. As I no longer collect or buy cards at all. I blame beckett for this.

Date of experience: February 18, 2023I wish I read Beckett's reviews before sending anything to them. Any company that doesn't respond to public complaints about their service certainly isn't responding to private complaints. I sent them an autograph to be graded, something went wrong, but not sure what as they refused to get back to me with any answers. It's been six weeks since I started to ask for order status on something I sent in months ago. I now must take them to court or I'm out of the money. Don't make my mistake, read their online reviews, and filter by date. These are not old complaints, protect your investment, by using anyone else.

Date of experience: October 30, 2023I am primarily a coin dealer and use grading services often. I sent 2 cards to Beckett and got 600+ sales emails before the cards arrived. I did get three about my order. Two were responses to my WTF are my cards inquiries. One had a tracking number. First and LAST time customer.
Tip for consumers:Turn around time was 15 months. NO COMMUNICATION about my order until I demanded after 8 months.

Date of experience: June 22, 2022So someone at Beckett has either messed up and put my card in someone else's slab or it has been stolen.
I have had the slab returned to me with a complete different card inside it.
In the grade it was given its worth about £7800.
They are trying to say that if it can't be found I'm most likely only entitled to the raw value I gave at checkout for shipping insurance despite it not being lost in transit but under Beckett's care.
Apart from this I have had numerous issues with past orders like wrong labels etc.

Can't reach anyone, between emails, phone calls and scheduled phone calls I was 1 for 9 and that was an email telling me they're weren't refunding my $ no matter what! I wanted to discuss situation of auto billing me on my last day of current subscription and that I should be able to. All I got was crickets... Done with Beckett and I have been collecting cards for almost 60 yrs. And about to sell off my collection so they lost alot of grading business which I'm thankful for now.

Date of experience: April 24, 2023I sent in three comic books to be graded through CBCS. That was in August. It is now December and I still don't have my books. What's worse is they double charged me (different amounts) for the same three books. That when I call "customer service" it takes me to a call center in India with very polite people saying they will call me back and never do. Saurav is the most recent, and this review is going on this company's page because he has it in his email footer. I WANT MY BOOKS BACK!
Tip for consumers:If you like bad customer service, double charging on services, long wait times, and essentially anythign else that's bad that you can think of, these are the guys for you. If you value your collectibles and favor good, local customer service and return calls on issues then seek that elsewhere.

Tip for consumers:10-20 day standard shipping time is not correct I've been waiting over a month for them to come back and with no response from the company .

Becket sent me an email order received and being processed.
Called the following week no order CHARLES proceeded to hold my order hostage and said i was banned 4 years ago for not paying a $30 shipping return FEE.
Becket sends NOTHING without payment!
Why process my order NOW they tell me to get back my cards i have to send them $130 money order NOT CREDIT CARD.
I now have to FILE a police report

Date of experience: July 22, 2022I phoned last year to stop the auto renewal. Never used the service for the whole year. Today it got auto renewed again. Phoned in and they said nothing they can do because its non refundable. I told them we cancelled it last year and went online and there is no way you can even remove the information of our credit card. This is crazy. Do not even try to sign up with this guys. They are extremely arrogant and ignorant. It will be a hassle to actually dispute this now on my credit card. I should have done this last time to avoid another charge. Never give your credit card information on this guys.
Date of experience: September 30, 2020I have used Beckett for both grading and their price guide. I too have been victim of their auto subscriptions and refusal to refund. They call and email almost non stop trying to push their price guide. The guide itself is outdated (as it must be with the sheer number of items they list) and it's oh so much easier to get prices from sold items on ebay. Because they never scaled their grading business they are months behind on guaranteed orders which they will of course not refund for not meeting their deadlines. They need to shape up quickly before they get left behind!

They deemed a JSA Witness item not authentic even though JSA confirmed it was! Since when are they JSA experts. That's the reason they've lost all credibility with me and anyone I talk to moving forward!
Date of experience: March 16, 2020I used to enjoy working with Beckett. Not any more. I signed up for a 99.00 bronze membership only to see I was peppered with daily calls to buy more and more. In addition, I was billed 35.00 on an auto renewal to use their website. That's what it costs to use their site per month. Are you kidding me? Card collecting has become a "pigs at the trough" enterprise... No more for me... Bye, bye Beckett.
Date of experience: February 22, 2017I (unfortunately) purchased a 1 year subscription for $99. Within minutes I realized what I had been sold was not going to meet my needs. I called their c/s and asked to quit my subscription and wanted a refund. They refused. I specifically told them I do not authorize any future automatic billing. A year rolls around and guess what? The jerks auto charged another $99! Don't do business with these thieves!

Date of experience: February 13, 2011Too many different formats and pricing options per sport that are vulgarly over priced considering most cards aren't even listed by this so-called #1 authority in sports collectibles. They wanted me to download an app totally separate from Beckett just to read a digital monthly price guide. But this was not the case when I purchased a guide several weeks ago. I also can not see this recent purchase on my Beckett account. It's almost like they have three to four different sites with different formats all interwoven together depending on what you're looking at. Still no refund. Still no price guide. Literally nothing has changed with this company in 25 years I didn't like them as a kid and I don't like them now. Is Tuff Stuff still around?
Date of experience: April 27, 2021Beckett is the biggest scam! They will take FOREVER to grade your cards (told 5 months specifically for non-guaranteed service). If you don't spend your life savings with them, then they will always give you low grades. I've personally received cards graded 8.5 and when the cases were cracked and sent back again for grading (sent under a different graders account), many of them came back 9.5 and I've even seen a 10! I have before and after photos as proof! I am at the point of possibly contacting the feds about this as I have clear evidence of how they scam people! I've never tried PSA but I doubt they are scammers like Beckett!

Date of experience: November 15, 2018This company is cooked. Had an account for a while. I always had the autorenew box unchecked. Look at my bank statement and they renewed. Called the same day hours after the charge and an idiot named "Allan" said that it was non refundable. Asked to speak with a manager and said they would call me back in 2 hours. Well "Allan" is a liar much like this company. Save your money and get a more accurate card price by looking at what it sells for on ebay

I think I'm going to cancel my subscription to the price guide and never send another item to them to be graded or authenticated again. If you're a good customer, they don't care. And I think it's not done on purpose, it's just total incompetence on the part of the company's employees, to the core. So I think I'm going to take my business elsewhere.
Date of experience: July 14, 2020I sent (1) Fathers Day AAron Judge card and (1) Mothers Day card to be graded. They sent back (2) graded cards both with the title of Mothers Day. Simple typo mistake. No not with these guys, It's been 3 weeks and they still can't figure it out. Sent front and back scan of card but still nothing. One look at original order as compared to what they sent back and they should be able to figure it out.
Date of experience: December 26, 2017Sent in 100 cards on a 30-day economy and was highly satisfied on the return with the box being safely padded with bubble wrap inside styrofoam, inside a cardboard box. That was my biggest worry, but it was great to see the cards after a near 9 month wait in these COVID times. Sure, the pandemic slowed things, but luckily I did this before the price increase. Have had all great experiences with Beckett. Cards look so much better encased by BGS than those skinny ones of PSA. Props to BVG/BGS.
