Chrome Battery Review
Ordered on a Monday, rec'd on Thursday. Dead. Called and they said it died during shipment. Charged correctly and still dead! But they "charge at the warehouse"... no they don't.
Date of experience: January 6, 2025Chrome Battery went online some years ago. Initially, it manufactured in the USA. Quality control was top-notch. Later, manufacturing was transferred to China, because there no more lead mines in the USA, and to cut costs. Since then the quality control has become unacceptable, at least to me. Some of Chrome's SLA batteries fail after three years, with no discharges between installation and failure.
Service is bad. The last three orders I placed I was shipped the wrong product. Correcting the errors was no biggie. No extra cost but my time and frustration. And, the prices are about the same as better batteries made by superior producers.
Verdict: if the battery is used in a critical application, keep looking!
Date of experience: January 21, 2019The housing materials look cheap. The battery didn't work at all. Didn't even turn on the lights. I guess something was wrong internally in the cells or connectors or something. Really bad item, waste of time and really bad for the environment, because all this garbage keeps piling up around the planet.
Tip for consumers:Check the reviews on several similar items and make your decision before you buy. There are items like this that may look good in the description and images, but they lack quality and reliability .
Products used:Bought it though Amazon, so I think most of these answers don’t really apply to the company itself .

Date of experience: November 24, 2020I ordered a battery for my suzuki hyabusa the first one never made it. I just took that lost. I ordered a new one and when it arrived it was not charged so I put it on a 1.8 amp overnight charged. Still nothing. Chrome hasn't gotten back to me. I'm done. I want my money back. Their customer service is the worst.
Date of experience: March 29, 2020I received a defective battery. The casing was split wide open even though the packaging was not damaged and it didn't appear that there was any mishandling in shipping. I believe that it was a manufacturing defect. The card in the box gave the website to go to for returns. On contacting the company, they refuse to take it back and refund me. They will do an exchange if I send it back, on my dollar, and send even more money to them (I guess that then I sit back and hope that the replacement isn't defective). The customer service representative that I communicated with just made excuses and was not sympathetic or courteous. I will not ever deal with this company again and advise against you doing so.
Date of experience: August 7, 2019I Bought Chrome battery because it came with a 2 year warranty, the battery went dead in 6 months, received a replacement, it too lasted 6 months. Guess what, Chrome battery stated their replacement battery has no warranty? So there is no 2 year warranty like it states on Ebay, so there is no warranty on a very poor quality product.
Date of experience: August 24, 2022Batteries good at first then after about 2months of use they have failed very fast got ahold of customer service and was told they would do nothing for me except give me a small coupon to buy more well no thanks will never purchase anything from this company again
Date of experience: August 17, 2018They sent me the wrong battery, purchased through Walmart. It was a nightmare to get a refund and they still wanted to deduct the price of return shipping from my refund. After sending me a FedEx return label. I had to threaten to stop shopping with walmart.com to finally get my full refund. Stay away from chrome battery.
Date of experience: December 23, 2020This is the worst company in the battery market. I am a retired elderly gent living on Social Security. I purchased a set of batteries for my wheelchair in 12/18/20. The batteries were recommend by Chrome Battery for the application and model of my wheelchair. Within 6 months the batteries failed to hold a charge and left me without a wheelchair. After talking with the company they agreed to warranty the batteries if I would pay the freight expense to ship them to me. Now just 6 months later the second set of batteries have failed. No warranty, no wheelchair. Now have to come up with the money to by a new set of batteries. This company makes the worst products and you would be wise not to buy their products.

Date of experience: July 23, 2017Bought a snowmobile battery 2 years ago. It turns out the issue then was a faulty fuse on the charger. So I kept the battery in my garage and kept it charged for future use. It's now January 2019 and the battery in snowmobile died. I installed the
Chromebattery I had on-hand. Rode 1 day with the new battery without issue. The next ride, about 2 weeks later, found the battery dead and failed (0 volts). Will not accept a charge. So, thinking I was saving $80 versus buying the Polaris battery, I completely wasted about $60.
Date of experience: February 12, 2019Just go buy a battery from your local advance auto because This is a waste of money don't even want the battery but paid for it and I'm going to make them send it one year replacement had it five months and it's dead and eBay sucks to for selling it and then when you asked them to help they tell you to contact the seller never do business with eBay
Tip for consumers:Really a waste of money. Just keep your money do not purchase a Chrome battery they suck

Date of experience: September 15, 2023Battery lasted a bit more than 12 months... given its a motorcycle and unplugged from bike 5 months, it lasted a season. Went to charge on a smart charger in spring- was stored unplugged- and it wouldn't hold charge... self discharged n killed itself... junk
Date of experience: June 2, 2020I'm surprised to see the number of bad reviews here. I ordered two YTX20CH-BS batteries for two 2006 Suzuki King Quad 700s. The batteries came quickly and were as cheap or cheaper than I could find anywhere else. Both batteries have now been through one weekend ATV trip and no issues at all.
Tip for consumers:They are legit, and IMO worth buying from.

Date of experience: April 6, 2023This company has the best customer service and warranty I have found. I am not so sure about the manufacturer quality. I have had two replaced under warranty and now I have a break-down issue with the last one. Apparently, the + terminal has come loose from the battery. The service shop things it has broken loose inside the battery and that is the reason it won't start my Harley. I have to purchase another battery because this one is just out of warranty at 21 months.
Date of experience: June 22, 2017I ordered a battery from them for a motorcycle. It worked great and seemed very powerful. It's been 2 years now and fires right up strong. If it lasts another 5, 6, 7,... years, then I will really be able to tell you. So far, excellent! I've recommended chromebattery.com to friends and they agree. Great batteries, great price, great shipping!

Date of experience: November 2, 2020Battery girl Brittney has absolutely no clue about batteries or how they need to be used. She has a GED view and thinks that she understands everything about batteries when what she actually knows about batteries could fit on the head of a pin!
Date of experience: February 24, 2015Battery seems fine except for the poor connecting terminals when you tighten them they bend should have spent the extra 50 bucks.
