Took my money and then CR cancel the order on their end because of an IT problem. Don't understand why they just can't then send the item. 3 weeks in and still waiting for Paypal to credit my account. What a hassle. Thanks CR for wasting my time.

Date of experience: December 29, 2022Read the return policy carefully. They will deduct restocking fees for any reason. Even if there is a fault, they won't return for full price. They will at best force you to file a warranty claim which they have sole discretion over. Terrible company and deceptive deals. Think you are getting a modern component? Nope, it's from 2013 and sod by nobody but Chain Reaction and the parent company Wiggle.

So, I decided to take the risk, and placed an order. The package was promptly posted via DHL on 4/1 and it arrived on 4/5.
I'm glad I took the chance and have bookmarked this company for future purchases.

Date of experience: April 7, 2022The site clearly stated cut off times for next day delivery. I ordered well within time as i had broken some parts on my bike and needed to replace them in a hurry for a trip down south the next day. I could have gone to a local bike store but chose CRC instead. The order didn't arrive the next day. I missed a pre booked day at the bike park and scheduled night ride as well as a hell of a lot of messing to amend trains and hotels.
I tried to contact CRC a total number of 6 times to resolve this issue. It's taken till now… 10/01/2024 to only have my postage refunded (which will take 5 days to refund) and CRC have now washed their hands of the issue….
I wasn't expecting them to refund me for all my expenses as that's a little far but a little voucher for £10 or free next day delivery on my next order or something as an apology would have been great but to only offer my postage back after the issue has been dragged out by them for 23 days i think is just unacceptable.
Products used:products are fine as they are made elsewhere. it’s the service that’s a joke.

Order placed on 5 august, writing this on 24. So almost a month and my order has not arrived.
Contacted them 2 times, both times waited until they're said, still nothing. Contacted them a 3rd time, no response in 2 days.
The DPD delivery info / status is stating that my order in in France since the dispatch, seems like it's stuck there & last update was on 19 august.
Order was estimated to be delivered on 16 August (6-8 days)

I ordered a £99 frame they sent me a £600 carbon frame, when I contacted them I was told I had to give the the dimensions of the box along with the weight (not easy) then tell them which day I was going to be in between 8am and 6pm then I had to photograph the collection and send it to them before they would send my original order. Treating me like a criminal when in reality I saved them £500 with my honesty as other people may have just kept quiet. No thanks or discussion just an automated response. As it fell around a bank holiday I am looking at 3 weeks to get the frame I originally ordered.
Poorest of the poorest customer service ever, bar none. I could go on but you get the idea, corporate vacuum them doesn't care about you really.

Date of experience: May 31, 2022I have been ordering bike stuff from them for years now and lately I am trying to stay away from them but they had Vittoria tires on sale so I ordered them and something that you usually would receive in few days can now take weeks, it's usually not their fault but their customer service when you try to get things like this sorted is horrible, they're just not worth, if you can try making deals with your local bike shop that's my friendly advice.

The customer service try to justify them which makes even more annoying the customer experience. I paid for next day delivery and will likely receive the parcel with a 3 days delay

Date of experience: November 11, 2022A phone call would have sorted the problem. They cancelled my order because item was not in stock even though it was in stock when i ordered.
I ordered a sram brake calliper and a calliper bracket. They sent calliper bracket but no brake calliper.
The bracket was for the calliper they cancelled so totally no good. But they sent it anyway lol. Charged a £5 for postage too.
I am a student and had no more cash, now i have to wait until the refund came back 5 days later. I needed the brake calliper urgently thats why i paid for next day postage. Lol.
If they would have rung i would have told em to replace with different item.

No refund, no answer to emails, a useless chat, I should have read reviews before dealing with this outfit. 95 percent of reviews are negative. The email inbox eternally full, don't call unless you enjoy voice mail!
Date of experience: April 8, 2020Just ordered from the for the first time. Went this way as Amazon is out of control and is definitely not the cheapest route to buy anything any more by far. They were about $40 cheaper for two items, a stem and handlebar. On the first order, you get $20 off over $100 spent. I eclipsed that amount but didn't see that discount until after I made the purchase. They applied the discount afterwards and refunded the $20 back. Only thing that could go wrong at this point is shipping time since customer service is 10/10 and price is 10/10. I paid a little extra to have it expedited so if anything goes awry I will come back and report but otherwise it seems all good.

Our bike was delivered damaged and after much hassle through their 'live chat' (no direct contact) they eventually, after much more hassle, advised us to get it repaired ourselves rather than help or fix the issue themselves.
The packaging is not adequate enough to protect the bike in transit, which I suspect has allowed the damage to occur.
Very poor indeed - Buyer beware!

Ordered a £700 bike for my son, not received any emails, no live chat, no telephone number to call. I have now put a claim in against PayPal to get my money back and order from elsewhere! Disgusting service! You should not be in business!

Chain Reaction refused to rectify the situation, claiming they sent said items and that they have no further obligation. Chalking it up to an expensive lesson: don't gamble on Chain Reaction's ability to deliver.
Date of experience: March 13, 2020I ordered a Vitus Sentier VR 29 from CRC on Jan. 7,2020 and it arrived in Florida today, on Jan. 12 from DHL. Considering it's coming from the UK and it's Covid times, that's pretty impressive. It was very well packed and assembly took literally 10 minutes. The dropper post was already installed, so I just had to put on the front tire and screw on the pedals. Shifted perfectly right out of the box and everything was installed correctly.
I didn't have to deal directly with their customer service because everything went smoothly so I can't speak to that. It came with a QC check list with the employee's name who assembled and checked the bike, which is quite nice. Also came with a few little bonuses like reflectors, a bell, tube patches, and a multi-tool.
Based on my experience, I have no idea why there are so many negative reviews. I would definitely order from CRC again.

After two weeks my back never showed up so I called DHl Wondering what happened. It turns out CHR did not pay for the duties. I emailed them and five days later they told me I'll have my bike in two days. That was about a week ago I still don't have my bike. Long story short they use DHL which is a $#*! company. I hope they go out of business I haven't had my bike in almost 3 weeks. I'm having to Drive five hours just to pick it up to ensure I get it. On top of that DHL hires people who can barely speak English. I could never reach chain reaction by phone or by the Chat Hotline. I guess you get what you pay for!

Prices are also very high. It's better and cheaper to buy items from germany and most of times they arrive quicker

Reported to Chain Reaction Cycles who are refusing to offer any help/advice, let alone a refund, and claiming I caused the fault. I would not buy anything from this company again and would encourage others to avoid too.

I paid for 4 day delivery, after checking my on my order on day 2 it still stated processing which got me more worried even if I was going to receive my items, so gave them a message on live chat, they responded instantly and reassured me my item would be here within the time scale. The next day I had a knock at my door it was the hermes courier with my order a day earlier than expected, all correct and packaged perfectly. A* service.

Date of experience: August 15, 2021Bought a bike from CRC, paid $4816. 23 CAD, including shipping and duty handled by CRC. Bike arrived scratched and damaged with a big hole in the shipping box. It was a hassle to get things in order so I can start riding. Back and forth emails with the CRC staff, trip to town to get the bike fixed were very frustrating. At the end CRC didn't resolve my trouble to my satisfaction. It was way too much hassle to get things right and took away all the fun out the experience of purchasing a close to $5K bike. Based on this I don't recommend this company, and don't bother to review on their site bc they avoid posting negative experiences... that's what they did with mine...

Please if your sending product overseas look on the box and send correct size plain as day, also no response customer service. Absolute rubbish as i was looking at buying a whole bike now lost confidence.

They're one of the many sites to look at when buying bike stuff and sometimes they are cheaper.
When they are cheaper then there is usually no problems but they are a lot slower to ship than what it says on the website.
The only other thing I don't like is that a lot of the parts just come in a plastic bag :(
