Spent $9.95 for 4-5 day shipping in online checkout. Package sat for a week with usps label generated for it until they handed it off to them. Customer service told me 7-10 days is normal even though checkout online said 4-5. Paid $9.95 and waited almost two weeks for delivery.

Date of experience: November 15, 2024Boscov's has been holding my money hostage in my bank account for 3 days now with a $93.86 charge that is pending while I have not ordered /purchased anything from them online. I have called them numerous times, customer service acts like they're idiots and they have no clue what I'm talking about I was told that it would drop off within one or two days here it's going on the 4th day and it's still being held in my account. They're starting to make themselves look really bad. I have called my bank but there's nothing they can do because it's still pending. I feel that boscov's is holding my money hostage. Be very careful of their website I looked on the website and now I've been charged $93 just for looking.
I have made many purchases in the past but I will never again because of all this bull hockey.

Date of experience: June 13, 2023On the back of the packing slip it is stated 'If you call us for assistance in placing the exchange order, we will gladly waive your standard shipping fee; Boscov's ships most exchange merchandise at no additional shipping cost."
Yeah right! Try getting through to talk to someone other than a clueless operator. The one time I managed to speak with someone, she seemed unqualified, and stated a total of $27.47. I answered "for exchanging an item?" She then proceeded to transfer me where I again waited and counted the cobwebs.
11 calls and numerous emails and still no resolution.
No more. Boscov's can go the way of other retailers who pay lip service to customer service.
Lesson learned.
Tip for consumers:Shop online elsewhere. A bargain is no bargain if lousy customer service is provided. Time is money and waiting on the phone for an agent is costly. If you get an ad online from Boscov's, hit DELETE and RUN FROM IT!

Date of experience: December 5, 2022I recently went to my local Boscov's and I saw Rudolph ornaments. The sign said $6.49 Rudolph ornaments. I grabbed 4 and went to check out along with a couple other things. The cashier rang out the ornaments and 3 of them rang up $18. I said that is not correct. I spent $71 when it should have been no less than $30-$40. If there were selective ones, then they all should not have been together on the display because I should have gotten them for the sale price.

Date of experience: November 21, 2023I'm writing this review to warn other people about Boscovs shady practices. I've made a few purchases at Boscov's this year the first purchase came damaged and they agreed to refund some of the money and put it back in my account when I looked in my account the discount was not applied it was taken out of my account. One order that I place not only did it take forever to get here but they charged me the wrong price of course it benefited them. Then I look in my bank account almost 2 months later and Boscov charges me for a purchase I never made. I would say I'm happy with the product but the service is terrible.
Tip for consumers:Keep an eye open in your bank statements. Be patient there a little slow on Shipping.

Date of experience: December 2, 2022Bought a piece of their luggage online. It came in a damaged box but that wasn't the problem. The luggage is too big to check. It's external measurements are greater that is allowed on most airlines. They advertised it as being 31" which would have worked but in the small print which I didn't see it says it's 32.5" which doesn't work. The airline may or may not let it be checked. I decided to return it but the shipping cost to return it is $85! I called and asked them to send me a shipping label and deduct it from my refund and they absolutely refused. They must train their customer service folks hard to be as heartless as they are. This is also after punching *******000 to by pass the AI that doesn't want you to speak to a human being. Now that I have read the reviews it all makes sense. If you are an online store and you are unwilling to work with customers about returns then you have no business being in business.
Tip for consumers:If someone wants to shop with this company they should go to their store and do not shop online. They are nasty about returns.

Date of experience: December 19, 2023Was contemplating an online order...went to review the order but found a better price on a different site but was somehow still charged by Boscov's despite not actually submitting the order. Called customer service and they basically said that this is normal practices and I should expect my money back in 3-5 days. WTH? No other company in this country actually takes your money BEFORE submitting an order. Now, I'm forced to use MORE money to buy what I wanted from the other website. This is the shadiest experience I've had with an online retailer. I will NEVER attempt to order anything from this place...EVER AGAIN. Now I see why the customer experience ratings are so low.

Date of experience: July 17, 2023I was not sure if the Brookstone Massage chair would be ok after I read reviews. I was very concerned. I couldn't be more happy with my purchase. It came packaged perfectly and brand new in the box. Took it out and it works amazingly. I bought it for 99.99 plus tax. On the Brookstone website it was listed at 249 and Amazon was 300. So I took my chances and sometimes when it seems to good to be true it usually is. Not this time! I was truly Blessed! Thank you Boscovs! I will shop with you again in the future!

Date of experience: December 29, 2022I had the pleasure of going into the Boscov's in Milford Connecticut. I had the pleasure of meeting two young people who took their job seriously. Demar and Felicia couldn't do enough to speed the line up, tell people where there were other registers open and made you feel like you were the only customer in the store. Their regular manager was not there, however the young man has management capabilities because I thought he was the manager. We always say when things are going bad but I would like to salute these two young folks for a superb job.

Date of experience: July 15, 2023Purchased a bed frame and mattress. When the delivery guys opened the box the wood frame was cracked. Ok things happen. My complaint is customer service is closed on Saturday and Sunday. Since I already got rid of my old bed now I'm apparently sleeping on the floor until I can even talk to someone on Monday. Who knows from then how long it will take to get a new one. For someone with severe back and neck issues this is a major problem. They should not be delivering furniture when customer service is closed. No one in the store itself can help. Once they make the sale I guess they are done with you. I was a first time Boscov customer and will never purchase from them again.

Date of experience: November 20, 2021I'm currently on my second "Estimated Delivery Date and expecting it to change again. My shipment is certainly enjoying a trip around the country. From NJ to PA to IL to KS to TN. I live in Arizona. I wonder how many more states my package will travel through before I get it. Now I understand why in only ordered once from them. Won't ever order from them again. I think Boscov's has an agreement with their shippers to take as long as they can to get it to the consumer.

Date of experience: September 6, 2011Love Boscov's... I can always find something there and when on sale, their prices are not bad. But I prefer to shop on line and do either curbside pick up or delivery. It is difficult for me to shop in the store due to painful knees, I can't walk too far for too long. YOU CANNOT Purchase on line. You can get all the way to Make a Payment and then it just stops working! I have tried multiple times with different orders, and different browsers, at different times. 3 different computers and my phone... nothing works. First time, it finally worked with my phone after 5 days of trying, calling the customer service didn't help... a month or so later even using my phone doesn't work. There are better discounts on line sometimes, so I don't want to call over the phone... I want to purchase on line. I am sure they have lost a LOT of business due to this issue.

I am always surprised that the store is no mobbed! It has high-end and economy choices for everything! A big and tall shop for men that can't be beat! And did I mention the prices? Unbelievable. The only "department" that is not represented is hardware and tools. Furniture and mattresses, clothes and shoes. And did I mention curtains? GO THERE! You will not be disappointed! I am a retiree and my only regret is that they are not closer

Date of experience: January 4, 2021Awful customer service. It was only after I placed my online order that I learned I would not have my presents for Christmas. No options for more expedited delivery. Offered curbside pickup, but every item. I attempted it was unavailable. Spent 3 hours on hold on their customer service line so I could either change delivery or cancel, only to be told by the lady on the phone that she did not handle that department. This store is simply awful and stuck in a brick and mortar prior century - - the 19th Century, and will be gone like the 5&10 Woolworth and A&P stores. Don't waste your money there.
Date of experience: December 19, 2020Boscov's is one of my favorite stores. They have a great selection, reasonable quality and terrific prices. Unfortunately, you need to shop in store if you want to get your items quickly. If you order online it can take 2 weeks to receive your items. Since we love to shop online, this is very frustrating especially when other vendors can manage to have my items delivered in a couple days. They have a local store and even though I prefer to shop online, I go to Boscov's first hoping that it helps support the local store.

Did not have a packing slip with item. You have to be inconvenienced t go to the box store and wait on line there. Not closed to my town so gas tolls and time. Horribe. Date of experience: December 23, 2020If you have the patience and half the day - Boscov's on line has some decent deals from time to time. The problem is that if you'd like a picture of the product - it takes forever to load and if you want to see the product in the other colors that they offer - you don't always have that option. It's hit or miss with their sale prices and sizes available. The quality of the clothes and shoes is good and returns at the store are very easy. It's their website - just dreadful. I did take their survey and provided them feedback on it. If you are looking for slightly more formal than Target but not quite Macy's it's comparable to Kohls.
Date of experience: January 17, 2017Boscov's allowed me to shop mask free all of 2020 with a medical condition. 3 weeks ago I attempted to shop as always and was verbally attacked loudly by a woman who asked what my condition was and if I had proof (both against the law), threatening to call security and have me thrown out. I asked for a manager and he came and told me I have to leave too very loudly and rudely. He also told me I would have to try on shoes at home! Really? This manager had on a mask two sizes two small. They both could have been nice and quiet about it, but choose to make an example of me. I filed a report with the ADA. I will never spend another dime on this company again. This is America, land of the free, not home dictatorship China. Customer service is everything regardles of a customers condition.

Drove around whole parkin lot looking for a shopping cart. None to be found. My GF needs a cart to lean on to shop plus we came for quite a few gifts. She had wait in car.
I enteted store no carts anywhere. After scanning the store I would say there was 1 cart per 25 to 30 shoppers. Most people where 50 and above.
Hope stupid is upoer management. You can get so so much more in a cart than what you can carry. Needless to say how does a 65 year old woman carry an air fryer oven to check out? Stand in like 10 minutes and lug it to car?
I went to customer service and requested to speak with a manager. She whole-heartedly agreed with my plight. I was told the constantly tell upoer management they need so many more carts.
I guess only a chimpanzee won't realize that they are hurting their bottom line by 40 to 50 percent. You can't buy what you can't carry.
Someone feed the chimps a common sense pill. Or find another zoo for smarter chimpanzees to run this chain!

Date of experience: December 18, 2022I can't speak to the quality of what I ordered because I haven't received it yet and it has been 12 days. I am now on the 3rd "new expected delivery date." I order summer clothes for my child thinking a week max, but I am still waiting. I should have just ordered off Amazon and gotten it in 3 days. I live in a rural area, so going to the physical store would be pretty inconvenient, but I guess that is the route I'll go if I ever shop with Boscovs again. The prices were very good but I kind of needed the clothes sooner.

They are telling me to take it up with my bank.It was a reloadable green dot card from HR block. Even their records on HR Block website show no refund. You put money on it and spend it online it is not attached to my my bank account that's why I use it online. I have gotten refunds with it before.It only took a couple hours to re appear on my card. They made a mistake or they flat out stole my money. Either way I'm out over 50 bucks. First and last time I shop there
