Sears Review
When I tell yall I have been struggling and having headaches with this company warranty. I'm just at a loss, for years ive been paying monthly payments of 50 dollars, finally I have an incident my refrigerator is not working. I have been going back and forth with them for 4 months, appointments have been canceled I have had to call out of work so many times that's it's been troubling even with my manager. When I say over 4 months I have been rescheduling, multiple appointments. The only thing they can tell me is it would have to be rescheduled, it's beyond sickening to me. It's beyond horrific, never in my life would I expect a company like sears to do this. They are the worst, I'm just sick to my stomach on why I have been paying this long. The worst, the worst, the worst. Do not get home coverage with them.

Date of experience: September 3, 2024Been without an oven since May '24, waiting on parts. After 5 phone calls, and my situation being "escalated" four of the 5 times I've spoken to someone, I'm still waiting on either parts or someone to have the authority to replace my ovens. Each time I had been assured I would hear from someone in 5-10 days or 3-5 days. One agent felt so bad he assured me I would hear from him and he wanted to compensate me for my inconvenience by sending me a $50 check (which I did receive). I've been told a number of times there is no supervisor to speak to until (August 9 '24) this most recent agent assured me (again) a supervisor would call me within 24 hours.

Date of experience: August 9, 2024Technician took 3 phone calls just chatting. I even asked him to call them back later. He continued talking. My mother was in another room with 3 dogs. Locked them up for the Technicians Safety. Also,
He basically said I was the cause of my problem. I have a Home Warranty and they picked Sears to service me. His Report to my Home Warranty was negligence. My claim was denied based off his opinion. I finally asked him to leave and take his phone calls somewhere else. Sears has great products but their Customer Service is terrible. This was not my first bad experience with Sears Repair Service
UPDATE: The technician told me my compressor was going bad. Sears could fixed the problem for $2000. I decided to get a second opinion. A certified company Emrald Coast Appliance came. He fixed the problem in 5 minutes. The water filter which I put in was in too tight. All he did was turn it some. Problem solved. I will never trust Sears to do anything. Not to mention the Poor service by their technicians. They should reimburse the cost of the bill ($130) from the new company I had to call. This was a Home Warranty case. Should have only have to pay the $65. Let's see if that happens.
UPDATE: Sears response was to call the number below. I tried calling several times. There is no prompt for Customer Service so I keep getting disconnected. I tried using other prompts. No help there. All the representative did was file a complaint against the technician.

Date of experience: August 5, 2024Sadly, to say, our experience has been absolutely horrible. We bought a part from sears when we find out we no longer needed the part. They told us that they will give us a refund. We are still after 10 business days have yet to get any type of reply from the company on the status of our refund. No email no call absolutely nothing. Do not buy anything from this place. Their customer service is absolutely horrible and they do not care about the customer whatsoever. Save your money go elsewhere.
Tip for consumers:Do not go here. It is a complete waste of time and money. They do not care about you as a customer.

Date of experience: September 26, 2023I have been with Sears since 1979. Protection agreement. When first started off with this ideal of an agreement for all my appliances it worked out fine. Until the last few years. It takes them 4 to 6 months to replaces your appliances if they conk out on you no longer able to fix. Then they won't even reverse your money back to you. Your out of pocket money for having to go to the laundrymat or whatever the lost may be. Not good.
Tip for consumers:Purchase a washer through the Sears protection agreement program. But every week they call saying we need to reschedule your delivery. On going for up to months at a time before I ever get my replacement. Then I have to pay out of pocket to get my clothes washed. Not fair to customers.

Date of experience: December 7, 2023I have been trying for over a years to get reimbursed for a faulty dehumidifier. I've had 4 case numbers and to call back in 10-14 days only to start the process again. I was told the check was in the mail twice. Do not buy from sears or warranty. I'm out 340.00.
Date of experience: November 17, 2022Bought an upright freezer and paid for extra delivery on Saturday. Got a text an email daily reminding me of the delivery, then got a time frame. After time frame came and went called and they said the item didn't come in and will have to be rescheduled. Would of been nice to get notified of this and not hasd to call to find out after blocking out our Saturday. No wonder why the place is bankrupt.

Date of experience: February 4, 2023Stay your distance! We've had a Master Protection Agreement with this company for years. But things have really gone downhill quickly. The renewal contract changes every year, and they don't provide any notification of what changes. I've called over 25 times to get resolution to what the repairman said wasn't fixable. He prepared me for red tape, but this was so much more. This group is uncapable of managing this business.
Tip for consumers:This entire group is motivated to disconnect you if you call. There is no option to replace appliances unless you use Sears.com. The site is not available and you cannot make a purchase any other way.
Products used:We have been covered under their Master Protection Agreement and pay about $800 annually for their protection. Frankly, there are serious problems in this company. If you want to purchase or talk to someone - good luck to you.

Date of experience: April 16, 2024It is impossible to get someone to actually help. New washer with rattle but still worked. Took 2 months for a service call and they ordered parts. 2 months to get the parts and then another 2 months to get someone to come repair. It wasn't the same person that ordered the parts so he wasn't sure what to do other than install them. The next day, the drum is banging against the door and shaking the washer. Now my pedestal is damaged, the washer is broken and three months later, I'm still waiting on a repairman.
Tip for consumers:Find another place to buy that you can actually get reliable service

Date of experience: July 2, 2022I bought a new garage door opener (Chamberlain) from Sears Online, they contract out to a (3rd party) installation, I paid $130 for install directly to Sears Online, the company is not qualified to install this brand, they never gave me a refund as services were not rendered. Stay away. I will never use them again, plus there call center in Asia is so unorganized, and there phone staff has a extremely low IQ and not trained properly.

Date of experience: September 15, 2022I got My husband a Lawnmower that came with a life time Warranty from Sears. We took it in to be fixed and they said they don't make the parts no more so they can no longer Warranty the Lawnmower. It was suppose to be a lifetime Warranty.

Date of experience: October 5, 2023We made the mistake of purchasing a refrigerator from Sears.com last year. The product begqn to have issues within about 6 months. They made several feeble attempts to resolve the issue. That took sveral months. Countless phone calls were made. We spent hours on the phone trying to get some type of resolution on a brand new product. We are now waiting for a replacement while our Kenmore refrogerator sits not working. The way Sears has handled this is utterly disgraceful. We will NEVER buy from Sears ever again. I recommend staying far far away from purchasing any appliances from Sears.

Date of experience: May 8, 2023I purchased a washer and dryer from Sears in Union Gap. I also purchased the Protection plan for both unites. In July 2022 I called sears to have my washer repaired, since it was broken. In August 2022 a technician diagnosed the washer and ordered the parts. On September 20th a technician arrived to fix the washer, but stated he needed a help of another technician, so he scheduled a appointment for October 20th 2022. I called to confirm the October appointment to find out the appointment was rescheduled for November 4th 2022. Im very upset that its going to take four months to have my washer fixed and if it cant be fixed another two months to get a replacement. Worst service ever.

Date of experience: October 13, 2022Had a technician come out to repair my stove and dishwasher. Technician properly repaired the appliances within an acceptable time. BUT all technicians should be instructed to park their vans on the street. My technician pulled into my asphalt driveway on a hot sunny day and then proceeded to do a "k" turn on my driveway to turn around. There was no need for this and he damaged my driveway. He should have simply backed out of the driveway. Definitely the dumbest thing I have ever experienced. I had to have my driveway sealed today to fix the tire tracks that the technician caused.
Date of experience: July 26, 2022I ordered a Samsung ref online fr Sears website. Im still waiting for my ref to be delivered til now. It was cancelled twice without telling me they would not deliver on the promised date. Waited for the ref to arrive for nothing. They really dont care if we are waiting. They are making these ridiculous excuses. My old broken ref is waiting to be hauled away by Sears. We dont have any ref as of now.
Date of experience: October 5, 2020This is the third Craftsman lawn mower I've had in a year or so. It's JUNK. Once I got to the Corporate level they worked with me. Replaced it two times (I elected to upgrade and pay the difference). But you can't fix junk by replacing it with junk. At this point Sears won't bother to even reply to me.
Tip for consumers:Service was good, but good service doesn't make up for junky products.

Date of experience: April 27, 2015Do not buy any hand held leaf blower from sears. They fail compression within 5 hours of using. 2 blowers failed compression. I will never purchase a sears product again. Nearest repair place is 200 miles from me.the idiot rep. Had no idea what to do for me. Really bad customer care..
Tip for consumers:forget buying from sears.

Date of experience: May 3, 2022Please do not purchase appliances from Sears. They used to be a good company. Not anymore. We purchased an expensive Kenmore refrigerator Sept 2019. A fan went out 3 months after warranty ended for the fridge. The actual part still has a year warranty left on it (some parts have a 2 year warranty). The part is not available. The associate told me he runs into this issue a lot and was very sympathetic with my issue however he could not help me and refused to give me a district managers phone number. No help calling the Sears / Kenmore customer service lines either. They just keep transferring you back and forth. None of them care that you have purchased a nearly $3000 fridge that can NEVER be repaired. We will never purchase another item from Sears. Would have given a zero star if it was an option.
Tip for consumers:Do not purchase appliances. When they break down they can not be fixed.

Date of experience: January 16, 2021Sears was a catalog company which then decided to have brick and mortar stores. They could have been Amazon but were behind the times run by people stuck in their ways. Now most of the stores are shutting down.
Date of experience: December 15, 2017If anything goes wrong with your product Sears is a horror to deal with. I have never seen such terrible customer service. I was put on hold and transferred for three hours, none of the people I talked to could help. During this time I was hung up on three times while they were transferring my call and the whole process would start again. The only way that I ever got help was complaining online which got me assigned to a case manager. Just avoid the hassle and order from somewhere else.
Date of experience: March 20, 2014I have had several bad experiences over the years. Customer on the phone is stupid many phone numbers and getting the run around until you find the right department. Never buy their appliance warranty program. Money scam when something goes wrong they find an excuse to why it is not covered.
Date of experience: December 21, 2015Yeah they have a wide selection and I do consider them a Canadian legend... but I mean come on. It's no wonder that they're going downhill, their prices are too expensive compared to Walmart and Superstore.
Date of experience: May 2, 2016Sears tools can't be beat and they will replace any tool that is broken or damaged. But Sears is old school and seems to not be able to get into the 21st Century. Their prices are a bit high compared to other national chains. Went in looking for a special colored knit shirt. Too pricey. Other stores sell the same type of shirt for much less.
Date of experience: May 10, 2015Just like Kmart, this store is losing ground. They, too, are overpriced and don't seem to get that we are living in a damaged economy age and people are looking for the bargain. You're not likely to find it here. Perhaps they need a new CEO to bring this chain back to its feet before they disintegrate.
