First I have had gopros for over 14 years and had 3 of them fail, also the upgrades they do, they change batteries, and accessories that don't fit their previous models, I bought a new in-the-box Hero 10 black and the sensor in the camera was bad, after hours of going through setups I finally realized that it was a bad sensor, their support is terrible. Their new cameras are just a minor update and not worth it. I will not be buying any more of their products compared to other manufacturers there really failing on their products

Weeks later they still have my money and customer service doesn't care. I will have to do a credit card charge back. Honestly ordering directly from them is like buying from a scam website..

1 not having an account setup for people who order their products without subscribing. So when i purchased i had no idea what happened because i couldnt look up my order until it had physically shipped.
2 a subscription that promises features then doesnt deliver
3 if you buy from them they charge you in another currency/country to what you purchased in and you get bank fees
4. They use dodgy shipping companies in australia that basically sit on the delivery in their delivery center. UPS got the camera to my city in 3 days (great work there). Its been sitting with couriersplease for 4 days with no indication of when it will be sent.
5. I assume if i have a warranty issue i will have to ship it back overseas to get it reviewed.
Im fed up with this company already and dont even have the camera.
Tip for consumers:so disappointed in the original action cam company i have had 3 cameras before and they get worse every time.

For replacement of their bad products, they charge another $$$ 135 and more with trying you to subscribe, etc. I agree with the other review - their subscription is a scam! Either way, this company does not care about the customer or its products. They just trying to get from the customer as much as they can while not selling much of under-functioning overrated cameras. Very sad!
Date of experience: September 7, 2023You can't call them directly. There is a phone number with a recording that directs you back to the website. DON'T pay for a subscription. If you want to cancel it, you get NO refund.

Date of experience: February 15, 2024The quality of these cameras does not deserve their reputation nor popularity. They are constantly overheating and freezing generation after generation. These issues should've been addressed and resolved years ago. Also tech support or customer assistance is non-existant. I regret buying mine. Save your self the frustration.
Date of experience: October 25, 2023Terrible product. It froze for no reason and I lost valuable footage that can never be taken again. Called GoPro - they just offered an apology and said they'll inform their tech team. Since the 'glitch', I've discovered it's happened again and again. Should just have used my phone. Terrible waste of money. Offered me a 15% discount on their other prodcucts - laughable! Can't understand why their teach team can't fix the issue - just not investing enough money in their product and living off their name.
Date of experience: January 15, 2024I received my Hero8 Black as a gift. Customer service gave inconsistent advice regarding set up and they had to send me a second battery in the first month. After about 2 years, the video playback froze after about 5 min. Next came to picture display; just the menu on a black screen. A repair company told me they'd have to replace a main circuit for $159. GoPro offered a "subscription" including cloud storage and "Guaranteed Camera Replacement" What they don't mention is that, if they don't happen to have another of your same camera in their warehouse, there is a $99 Service Fee. I was asked for my credit card and told that the new camera would not be shipped until they had received my old camera and determined what the problem was. It seemed to me that the whole think is a scam. For $350, the camera should last more then 2 years. I probably used it twice per month for the first 90 days, then it was put away for the winter. If that is an example of how long the camera lasts, why would I pay another $99 for yet another of their cameras. Maybe the 2-year replacement policy is their profit structure. Not for me! I gave the camera and accessories to a friend and cancelled my subscription.

Date of experience: July 3, 2024Pathetic that a company like this has to resort to bundling subscriptions with camera purchases in order to scam people out of $50 when it auto-renews. Then REFUSE to refund even though there is absolutely no reason not to issue a refund unless you are trying to straight up rob people since there is absolutely no equipment involved.
Tip for consumers:Look at the pathetic attempt they make to keep subscribers as they know their service is garbage and unnecessary. Hope they go out of business soon.

But anyways you got a decent quality for the price.
Date of experience: January 13, 2024Have to take sd card out and insert it into computer(which is a pain). Battery started failing after 6 months. Wouldn't charge over 64%. Gopro's solution was to send me new charger. Couldn't fix the transfer problem! Way overpriced compared to comp!

Date of experience: November 13, 2023I have tried cancellation of my subscription. When I couldn't find a way to cancel, I canceled credit card and got a new one. Somehow your company charged that card again on annual membership totally without my authorization, this is total bullcrap. I have written a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and plan to seek out all avenues to review and warn all platforms and chats of your deceptive practices.

They did not want to reimburse me for the whole year even though we do not want to keep the subscription. They said I was one day late to cancel so I had to swallow the $49.99 subscription. Great company! So sad we really liked their product.
Date of experience: December 15, 2023I purchased a GoPro 8 Black 10 months ago. Cam had a red light in the front of the cam. Checked their website for help. Found out these cameras have an existing problem with this issue.
Called customer service, advised all info they promised will get back to me which they never did. I waited 48 hours then i called back to find out because of the place I purchased it from they are not an authorize dealer. I argued with them on who cares where did I get my cam from since is still a Gopro Product they should honor the year warranty so they refused.
I will never buy a gopro product again.

Date of experience: June 1, 2023I ordered a camera and delivery was late. I called in customer service to cancel the order. Half of it was delivered and half intercepted & sent to warehouse. It has been more than 1 month now and no refund.
Whenever I call the customer service, they always say that they will respond in 3 - 5 days and none of them have ever responded.
It is very disappointing, poor and sorry service for a company like GoPro. If I had known earlier, I would never have bothered ordering from here. I would have gone with better camera options from good companies with actual customer support.
Tip for consumers:Refund service is very poor and your money gets stuck for months and months. Better go with other camera options out there with real customer service

Date of experience: July 8, 2021Purchased a camera package for a Christmas gift and the day after receiving the price went down $10. I asked for a refund of the difference (every company I have dealt with in years of buying on line happily do this) and they refused. Would rather me return it and purchase another one. Horrible customer service is right.

Date of experience: December 12, 2022My Gopro stops recording randomly. I had tried all the fixes I could find online. Customer support were useless, offered me advice on updating firmware and formatting SD cards, which I already knew. Very expensive waste of money.
Date of experience: March 7, 2023Received a pending charge on my credit card for 'automatic subscription renewal'. Reached out immediately to GoPro. Took them two days to respond back via phone call (they never even picked up the Chat window). Customer service rep said there's nothing they can do and refuse to remove the charge that still showed pending on my credit card. They offered a free mount for my troubles. I will never buy another one of their products again. How can a company that size play these sort of games? Most reputable companies at least send you a reminder of a pending renewal.
Tip for consumers:Company should send notifications of pending 'Automatic Subscription Renewals' instead of just charging and allowing no customer recourse

Date of experience: December 1, 2021Great Picture, but getting sound into it from an external mic is a nightmare, you need at least 2 different adapters, which will lose connection when moved, so no sound, just too much trouble. Sold it and then some months later was hit with the annual subscriber $69.99 with no advance warning. I contacted Go Pro the next day to arrange a refund but of course it is in the terms they don't do refunds. It took over a week for them to get back to me via email to explain this, but that I could continue to use the subscription? I replied, but that bounced back as *******@gopro is a no reply email address. Cannot contact them via email. Never buy one, this is a shonky company.

Yay, you're making money off people who are too busy to read through all their junk email to find a renewal notice sent during thanksgiving, what a great way to make money? Wouldn't it be better to make money from a great service that people willingly pay for and use readily? I keep and pay for many subscriptions because they are a good value and I get much use out of them, and because the companies have good customer service and policies. Why anger and alienate customers who will in turn write negative reviews about your company, and warn others to avoid you? Just makes no business sense, unless of course you don't stand behind your product and just want to make money in a dishonest way.

I like their products, but the customer service system is a chat that seems so disconnected from actual order fulfillment and returns that it's not helpful. I returned a brand new order only to go weeks without a refund. They kept saying it had been elevated to their "Warehouse Team" and I still don't have my money back. Going to need to go the charge-back route with my credit card company unfortunately.

It was fine, and I was able to capture some photos and videos. Until the day before our departure from the island. And after all the sight seeing done, my go pro would not turn on. Tried to reboot it... but was unsuccessful. Instead... ALL my photos and videos on the memory card turned to 0. YES. All of those memories supposedly captured are now gone. Worst investment. Waste money. And now wasted memories I'll never be able to retrieve because this device failed me..

I've received open package. On my comment UPS delivery person said it is because how GOPRO taped the package. He was correct, very untidy, no protection, it seems like they recycle old one.
Since is pandemic I just returned as is. Did not open at all.
I did not receive full refund, GOPRO did not refund the duties taxes and fees. On my comment that it doesn't not make sense because they will sale again and charge duties, taxes and fees again, GOPRO person mentioned lawyers etc...; very strange.
Think twice before order.
Tip for consumers:it is not worth it. For much less you get the same quality, I mean can you make a difference between 4k and 5K, I mean do you need 5K video, and if you need where would you watch it

Contacted support and RMA issued took 7 days for them to get it, 7 days to process. According to agent they shipped a refurbished unit. Worst purchase i have ever made. I paid for a new camera & fast shipping. It has been over a month and i am still waiting... they cannot refund me because they already sent out a refurbished unit that i have not received. Customer service says they will get with their team manager and contact me when they can find out anything.

I have an issue with a GoPro subscription discount that I did not receive on one purchase. The total amounts to approximately $70.00 US. Not a great sum but it is my money, no GoPro's money. I have done everything in my power to resolve this issue but GoPro quite simply refuses to contact me in spite of my numerous attempts at contacting GoPro. The customer service is virtually nonexistent. Caveat emptor. I have learned a difficult lesson. However, I do have very powerful tool in my toolbox and that is word of mouth. I will relate my GoPro experiences wherever and whenever I can So, take heart disgruntled consumers you are not powerless there are effective measures you can take against GoPro.
