Why does ALDI need to buy Chinese vegetables?...very disturbing! The Chinese have threatened the US with nuclear weapons...they are NOT our friends. Date of experience: January 31, 2025
As a mobility-impaired person, I found it distressing to have the cashier shut down the register as soon as I made it to the self-checkout kiosk. This woman always gives me a difficult time and I try to avoid her like the plague. All I was looking for was a scanning gun that worked but instead I got a hassle, again. The cashier tried to tell me when I went to a different kiosk that Aldi's wants all customers to empty their carts, scan the items, and then put them back into the cart. Why are there guns then? What about when you have a lot of items? Avoid the Niagara Falls, location until Sam is gone. Tip for consumers:It's sad to see Aldi's hiring cashiers that are rude to customers. Prices have doubled and tripled and product is smaller and quality is awful! Special by products are no longer available. Stores are dark, dreary, and dirty. I've been a shopper at Aldi for 30 years, but I will no longer shop at Aldi ever again. Products used:None Service Value Returns Quality Date of experience: November 15, 2024
I usually shop Aldis for the price and good quality private brand items. I have never gone there for service as most of the times, the employee/s try not to make eye contact in case you ask a question and that will put them behind on the goals for the day. Anyway, today I visited their store in Tampa, FL, off Bearss and Fletcher. I was there for their family pack of boneless chicken breast. There was one on the shelf and grabbed that and I asked the team member if he had more. He said yes, it is at the bottom of this stack, give me a few minutes, go do you shopping, and I will have it out for you. I did my shopping and went back, and he was gone. I grabbed other chicken. As I was moving towards the checkout, I saw the gentleman walking towards the meat section. I said to him " I am disappointed by your service". He stated, "Why is that". I said, " because you told me to finish my shopping and you would be to the box of chicken, I didn't expect you to go on a break". He got agitated and said, " I haven't had a break all day", this was around 2pm. I said, "That is not my problem" and walked away. I walked to the checkout and asked the cashier, Zachary, what was the name of the gentleman by the meat section. He says, "I think it's Tyler", I said, "You think?". I then asked him for the corporate number, and this is where I really felt insulted. He gets on the paging system and says, " hey, does anybody know the corporate office number?" I said to him, "It is pathetic if you can't find your corporate office number on your own or ask a mgr. To come up". The store number listed on my receipt was #55. Needless to say, I will not be visiting Aldi's again. This is one person's experience and opinion. At least when I go to Walmart, I expect very little service or none, but I was shocked at my Aldi's experience. Their customer care center is a joke. I told the lady, Maria, everything that transpired and then she proceeds to put me on a 5-minute hold so she could document my statements. You never place an unhappy customer on hold and then come on say, I am going to transfer you to another customer care specialist who will take additional statements from you. I declined and thanked for NOT helping. I was hoping to speak with a District Manager or Vice President, but that will not happen. I believe that their lean labor model burns out employees as this is reflective in their attitude. Lean labor model + private brand offerings = Low prices 7 years running. Price beats service every day. I have learned my lesson with Aldi's and will take my hard-earned money to another retailer. Happy Holidays! When my grocery order said it was Delivered, but never actually arrived, I called Aldi Customer Service to find out what was going on. After 36 minutes on the phone, the only solution offered was a partial refund that did not include tip and service fee. I requested that the order be replaced and was also denied that. This service stole my money and Customer Service would not take any responsibility for that; instead calling it the problem of an "outside company." (To be clear, the representatives on the phone were doing what they could with the obviously very dismissive and cold script they had to work with). Do not use this service. Products used:None. They did not arrive. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality Date of experience: August 28, 2024
Often my bag of potatoes have rotten potatoes in the middle of the fresh. Lemons too. Old lemons have been placed along with the fresh. Purchased bag of avocados. Black inside after second day of purchase. Why has Aldi lowered their standards? Date of experience: September 1, 2024
The two guys that have been there a while in White Settlement are rude and disrespectful. Everywhere I shop with my dog,Walmart,Russell feed, Walgreens and Supercuts Etc. People are very friendly and compliment me on my dog he is a little verbal sometimes especially when we first walk into the store and then he stops talking. The only people that have ever complained are the two guys in Aldi with the bad attitude that's it! There are times I don't feel good and I need to get a couple of things in a hurry but I can't go into Aldi because those jerks complain and cry about my dog making noise. I have showed the People in all the emailed them my papers showing them that he's my service dog and then I'm gonna disabled veteran but apparently they don't care! It is one nasty store. Kids running all over the store and nothing said to the parents about them being unsupervised. There is no customer service to help you in the self checkout when items are not ringing up right I don't intend to sit there and wait 20 minutes for someone to side to come and help me. I remember why I stopped going after the first time many years ago after the day's experience they have not changed. They're off brand food might be cheap but it's not worth the aggravation... Previously I found this store closed it's bathroom to their customers before the store closed with no option to use them. Today I find the bathrooms cannot be used unless a key is collected from an associate. I will no longer be patronizing this branch of Aldi that does not offer self check out and restricts usage of the bathrooms. Had my fill of needing a pass or key to use a restroom when in Jr high school Date of experience: February 8, 2024
I had not shopped at Aldis in many years and today I was reminded why! Starting with quarter that's required to unlock the shopping cart which I did not have and had to make change to jump that hurdle. Then I noticed that the cashier with the robotic demeanor was placing my items directly into the card un-bagged. When I inquired she stated that I had to purchase the bags. I also was not impressed with the quality of their fresh fruits. These are all the reasons this store chain is at the bottom of the list with respect to grocery stores nationwide. If in fact they're passing the savings to customers these savings are not worth the headache and the substandard quality they're offering. Products used:A number of "fresh" produce items. I'm done with our neighborhood Aldi. The cashier tonight was horrible (that's a first by the way) but I've always struggled with produce quality, is already bad or will be soon. Bought a frozen pizza tonight, bad bad quality. Date of experience: February 19, 2024
One star is all this aldi deserve. I was in the store here in Stockbridge ga and I accidentally dropped a bottle of hot sauce. I went to one of the customers service people and he was on the phone and before I got a chance to say anything he calls someone else to help me. It took Tanisha about 15 minutes just to get a mop and I was willing to clean up my mess but she had an attitude and said "I'll do it" then walk away and makes a comment about "Something must be wrong with him". It was disrespectful and unprofessional, I was trying to be responsible and did not deserve this treatment. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality Date of experience: March 5, 2024
Checking to see if anyone else has this problem. I buy an extra half gallon of non-fat milk from Aldi's occasionally when I think I might not want to go out before the current bottle (plastic) is empty. I've never had non-fat milk go bad and Aldi's is no exception. However, I don't always have room on the door for the bottle to be stored upright, so have placed it horizontally on one of the shelves. The last two times I did that, the unopened bottle leaked! I couldn't believe it but tested it and true, it leaks! How can that be - I dunno - legal? Doesn't it mean the milk is not sealed from contaminants that originate from the outside of the bottle? I haven't taken the issue up with the store yet, but I'm sure all the store does is unpack a crate and put the bottles in the fridges. Is there an Aldi's webpage to post this problem on? Tip for consumers:Nope. Products used:Food products. Service Value Returns Quality Date of experience: February 6, 2024
There was only two lines open; both were full but we go to the line where the people has the least items because the other line had two families that their cart was overfill. The cashier looks and is and says you will need to go to the other line. My husband said that's why we came to your line because we did not want to wait behind the families with carts full. We leave our cart in his line and leave Service Value Shipping Returns Quality Date of experience: March 9, 2024
I've been looking for a friend for a microwave egg boiler for some time. I was delighted when I found them recently on Aldi's shelves for $3. I bought two egg boilers as gifts and one little egg boiler spatula to go with it. The first person didn't want the gift, which I'm happy for now. Because when I tried to use it at 3 minutes the egg yolk was nowhere close to done. I have a 1000 W microwave, the max it says you can use on the instructions. So I upped it to the 5-minute level - it was still not done. Holding my breath and hoping not to hear the sizzle sizzle from aluminum foil or metal inside a microwave, I did it for 7 minutes. Not only was the egg not done, but that was the last time my microwave would work, two or three days ago. We have unplugged it, plugged it back in reset all the settings, and still the heater will not work. The warranty on the heater says they will have someone come out for $200 plus tax and maybe fix it. Or, as we have opted, we will have to replace the entire microwave for about $346. Very dissatisfied customer. Obviously, both egg boilers and the spatula are going back, but $10 will not touch $346. Thanks a lot! Don't buy their products that are non food such as cookware, small appliances, electric toothbrushes etc. It's basically junk! For example I bought a porcelain iron pot. I've literally used it five times the porcelain is chipping all over it. $20 bucks gone to waste. If you don't keep your receipts you can't prove you bought it. But still you get what you pay for! Lafayette, LA first time shopping there. Next time I will be more prepared Bring a quarter for your basket and your own bags. It's ok if you forget your quarter the manager will give you one. Also to purchase a brown bag is only.12 cents. Some of there products doesn't look to be from this country but still some great stuff. I purchased Strawberries for less than 2.50 and they looked fresh. I'm really impressed. I'm not to sure about there meat I prefer to go to a butcher or a meat market. There lunch meat looks good to. Purchased cheese 3 days ago at Rockyhill, CT store. Wife was making pizza and noticed mold on one edge. No for sale date on package. I won't trust their products again. I will call the local health department tomorrow and make a formal complaint. They should be closed down. Minis one star. Date of experience: February 6, 2022
Unless you are a fan of non- existent customer service, no name low end brands & a disorganized, less than clean environment, then I would suggest shopping elsewhere. Their biggest competitor is Dollar General. Need I say more! Date of experience: March 13, 2023
We have been buying our milk from Aldi for 3months now and not one of the gallon jugs has lived up to it's "best before date". The last one was dated 20-21-23 and it had already started to sour by 20-14-23,7 days early. The only good thing I can say is it turns into fairly nice yogurt. Was getting to the point of being very picky about what I bought from Aldi because of the decline of product quality but now that they have self checkouts with cameras staring at you, IM DONE! The customer service was pretty bad but now you cant get anyone to help you. I tried returning an item. The only cashier at the front called for someone three times but noone ever showed up. After about 10 minutes of waiting he finally decided to give me the refund himself. I have been shopping there for many years and their quality and customer service has really diminished. Its sad to say that you can now get better service at Walmart! NO MORE! Service Value Returns Quality Date of experience: March 17, 2023
I really feel like I have been robbed... Delivery not sent and absolutely no power given to customer service agents or managers to resolve the situation. Yes it will appear... but we could be talking weeks or months. Such a shame to see a company which, this time last year, actually had excellent customer service. They have lost my custom for good, not because of a mistake, they happen, but because of their couldn't care less attitude and refusal to even try and fix the problem Products used:I have received nothing from the order Service Value Shipping Date of experience: May 22, 2022
Aldi in Tampa, Fl has some rude female employees. If you want to keep your basket with you at checkout and bring it up to the cashier they usually grab it and slam it against the wall while me or my elderly mom is holding it and hurting are arms. I know they already have a basket there, but I have cases of water bottles that I don't feel like moving to another basket cause my arm. I guess no have ever complained because they keep doing it August 17th 2022 is my last day shopping there. Service Value Quality Date of experience: August 17, 2022
The Aldi hot dog buns are terrible. They have no strength and disintegrate as you use them. Last night I used a knife and fork to eat my sausage, in the bun, because it could not be held in my hand. I'll never buy them again. I should have known better because much of their bakery items are inferior. Date of experience: December 15, 2022
Bought a 10 lb bag of potatoes got home open the bag and 1/3 of them had bad spots on them with in a day they started to rot, this came out of a new crate. Also their zip lock bags half the time don't zip well once you open them good luck trying to re zip it. Their clear wrap for food the container finally has a decent cutter on it but not the box falls apart left with a roll of plastic and no box. The quality has been getting worse every year and pricing is creeping up also to the point I'd rather pay a little more to get a better product. Date of experience: August 27, 2023
