Ordered a massage chair. Aknowledgement had incorrect sales tax based on list price not sales price, a $140 difference (you DO NOT charge sales tax on the discount amount and verified this by state statute definition of "sale price"). Brick and mortar location was no help and could do nothing until an invoice is generated. 4 phone calls to customer service totalling 108 minutes. Was disconnected twice after lengthy waits. Tried live chat and was also disconnected twice after 15 minute waits. Finally reached a "manager" via phone and told him to cancel order, period. He provided me with a reference number and simply put me back in queue. Interesting that every wait message said I was next in line with exactly a 36 minute wait, total BS. Hung up. No way to cancel order on line. Total incompetence and truly believe this is all a stall tactic to get you to give up. I will simply refuse the order when it arrives. Will never use these morons again.

The Sam's Club in Charlottesville, Virginia does not have many of the items I need, such as Quaker Old Fashioned Oats 160 oz., 2 pk. (Old Fashioned) nor Member's Mark 100% Psyllium Husk Fiber Capsules, 800 ct. Recently, this Sam's Club started selling Chinese Green (Shanghai Boy Choy) in a 2-pound package. But it only indicates the packing date without telling the best day of sale. Most of the time, the leaves have turned yellow but still remain on the shelve. I had to buy the fiber and old fashioned oatmeal from Costco. I have Sam's Club Plus Membership for years. The city has both Costco and Sam's Cub. Now I am thinking about giving up Sam's Club and shop in Costco only.
Date of experience: December 13, 2024Went to samsclub and had my sister pay for my items and I wasn't planning on renewing my membership because it's not worth it going to samsclub so samsclub took 50 dollars from my sister's debit card because they couldn't get it off mine and she is not a member. That's crazy. Samsclub quality of food has gone down and you have to stand in line to enter the store and stand in line to leave. Samsclub really needs to change.

I HAVE MISSING CHECKS THAT NEVER ARRIVED! I WAS TOLD THE MISSING CHECKS WERE NOT THEIR PROBLEM! I HAD TO FREEZE MY ACCOUNT! I HAVE BEEN A MEMBER SINCE THEY OPENED, AND THIS IS HOW THEY TREAT ME! Date of experience: October 3, 2024Sam's Club, Montgomery, Alabama. 2 - African American sales associates and 1 - automotive tech started stalking me, showing up where I was and following me. I bought tires for me car there and provided my cell phone number for a tire rotation. Then they started getting into my car which means they copied the key fob code. I changed the car door lock and they were still able to get into my car.
Tip for consumers:Sam's Club in Montgomery, Alabama is not safe to shop at.

Date of experience: July 2, 2024I really like the Sams Club company, so I applied then went in store to check on it and I was greeted by manager Chirs and at that time he told me this store didn't need any more because they were over staffed by 7 people at this time. After i had bumped into another manager he got me an interview the next day it was with Chris all through the interview it felt like Chris was trying to discourage me from work at this store even at times I felt like I was not good enough when I know I am good enough so when I came back to check on my interview i was not surprised to hear I did not get the job. I have 30 years' experience and my top priority is customer service. I felt bad but i was not surprised.

My wife and I went yesterday and spent longer at the checkout trying to get the app to work than we spent actually shopping for the items we had.
The staff tried to be helpful but they couldn't get it to work either.
Think about that for a moment, the actual employees can't get the system to work so what chance do you or I have?
I would rather have a card any day of the week, I don't mind a new system based on technology but it has to actually work,
And this one doesn't.
Tip for consumers:I'd prefer to have a card, it may seem old fashioned but at least they work. Like I said, technology is great but it has to work.

Date of experience: March 25, 2024Wow... Sugar delivered in open top 2 gallon plastic bag. The Domino Sugar bag busted wide open, still there but sugar running out into this huge plastic bag. Not closed, not sealed. I order several bags for baking. The others were thrown in these same open plastic bags with loose tops not sealed good. I am so disappointed! This was delivered to my home yesterday afternoon 2-28-24.

Date of experience: February 27, 2024Just went to Sam's on 41 in fort myers and I purchased a couple of things. After I hit total, the item that I pick up did not show the discount. I call the girl over that was assisting the self checkout. She told me that the item properly expire and they did not remove the sign. I asked her can you honor the price. She responded by saying she is not a manager. She is only an hourly associate. She then continued to say she does not care and I can call corporate. I was blow out of my mind. A person in customer service does not need to be there if that their attitude. Things are very expensive and as a customer you shop and hoping for a discount that helps. A person does not deserve that kind of treatment especially when that what you advertise. Terrrrrible

Now they are saying it will be be another 2 weeks before i get it. The store near me has them but they will not give me the sale price because it end on sunday. If i knew it would have taken that long to get the tv i would have pick it up my self.

Enterprise freight delivered it with one employee and he lost control of the hydraulic system and my gazebo with the pallet jack attached fell 5 fr onto my concrete driveway. The framework is damaged and it's been over 24 hours since I've heard any feedback regarding resolving this issue.

Date of experience: April 13, 2023I bought items to be delivered. The tip said goes through a third party. I gave the driver cash and the driver confirmed they do not get 100% of the tip due to the third party.
I bought doritos and they expired a month later. Two months pass and I go into the store to see the same expiration, now a month expired, still on the floor. I told an employee who LEFT them there because a "third party vendor" stocked the 30 or so count of small bags of doritos in a box, not Sams Club.
The shipping prices vary wildly. I added a $13 box of chips and the shipping went from $6 to $12. So it was really $19 for the box of chips. Those waffle thins are the same way, no weight, larger box, $6 added to ship, while never in store. It would be one thing for them to list the shipping before you add to cart, they let you figure it out later.
Their prices on nuts and the quality of the pecans was great.
The gas is not top tier. Just gas.
Tip for consumers:It is a lot of Walmart style nonsense.

Date of experience: March 6, 2024April yapped on & on to the lady head of me, while slowly scanning her items. One topic was rock concerts like Foreigner & a group she couldn't remember so she stopped scanning to think. She's not getting paid to converse, I said it's nice to be friendly but she isn't paying attention to her job. I told April's supervisor to watch the security recording to see how many times April had to re-scan items. April wouldn't ring me up because I said she was inefficient. Anotherlady had to ring me up & she was so nervous. Maybe it's time for April to retire so she can talk all she wants & not hold up the long line like today.
Date of experience: February 27, 2024Place an order for a television that could have been purchased from any number of different retailers. There was no price advantage by ordering from Sam's Club. Chose Sam's Club because the delivery date was expected to be four days after purchase. However, the initial ship date was not until two days after purchase. I should have known. At this point, the shipment has been delayed twice and now FedEx has "Updated Delivery Pending."
If you cannot pick it up locally, I'd suggest avoiding Sam's Club.
Tip for consumers:Don't count on Sam's Club delivery estimates as accurate.

Date of experience: September 26, 2021The Optical Center sneaks a $25 "1-year Allstate Eyeglass Insurance Policy" onto the customer's bill without the customer's knowledge or approval. It's part of their "package". They will refund it when asked, but it should have never happened in the first place.
Also, the Optical Center requires that customers fill out a long, intrusive Health History Form. What does this have to do with buying a pair of eyeglasses? My examining eye-doctor didn't even look at my completed form. I fear that they are just harvesting the information for marketing purposes.
Finally, the Optical Center is not transparent with their prices. They list the cost of frames, but they don't mention that the right lens will cost $87 and the left lens will cost another $87. The final charge is a complete surprise. I expected more openness from Sam's Club.
Date of experience: January 28, 2023I went in and they previously talked me into a plus membership at the pharmacy, this time they filled it with a brand 4 times higher than the rx said it'd be online, they said it automatically uses more expensive one... wow. I had them change it but the female pharmacist at the Manchester mo was rude and so was the old woman who was at register, I'm talking extremely rude, like she she could you repeat that you just rattled it off very quick about my phone number, wow.

Date of experience: March 11, 2021I order form Sam`s club SHIPPED by Sam`s club, and when an empty box arrives, not completely empty, the packing slip says " All risk of loss with respect to goods sold hereunder shall pass to the buyer upon delivery to the carrier"! Sam`s club got my money tho and won`t refund it! $5 spoons.1 star was the lowest choice, would`ve involved the police if I thought it would have mattered! Membership cancelled, CC cancelled, losing my business won`t effect them, but it will effect me :)

I've noticed for a long time now that their self checkout payment processing is slow and doesn't even work most of the time. I don't have a problem with self checkout but with the payment issues one person is never enough to fix the problem so you can try again. Long lines and ridiculous wait times are the result. This is so basic! Then their exit process with the scan guns is terrible too. Their big competitor executes all the above without issues. Why can't you Sam's Club?
