This is a follow-up to my previous review concerning 4 pairs of returned shoes to Footsmart.
One pair of shoes was marked "final sale" and, when I requested a simple size exchange, the business refused and told me none of the cost (around $50) would be refunded.
I wrote about this very unpleasant experience earlier today in Sitejabber. Then, not long after my review was published, I received an email from Footsmart stating that the a "final sale" item had been refunded after all.
I find it less than encouraging that a bad review prompted them to do the right thing! This should have been handled differently from the beginning. Not a sufficient resolution in my estimation.
Tip for consumers:This business has the most dismissive and inconsiderate customer service I have ever encountered.

Date of experience: September 20, 2024My mom ordered black/white floral Easy Spirit shows and received horrific-looking blue floral shoes. When I tried to help her exchange them to the ones she ordered, nothing in the shoe was available (no sizes or colors). Return would cost $10 and reading reviews here, she probably would not receive a refund. So we are keeping them...but will not order from here ever again. What a scam!

Date of experience: April 7, 2023I bought so many pairs of shoes and accessories from Footsmart online and recommended them to dozens of family and friends with foot problems. However, they will never get another cent from me and I will let all know how horrible their customer service has become. I had just received my latest two pairs of Vionic shoes in the mail. One pair was fine, the other I was in excruciating pain right away with because the cut was right on my bunions. I called to get a return shipping label and was told they are in total liquidation and there was no refund or exchange! I paid a lot of money for these shoes! Deplorable business practice!
Date of experience: October 11, 2016I recently purchased a pair of Walking Cradles dress shoes, which I needed to return. I am told that they will not "approve" my return because the shoes were in a liquidation sale. I have never encountered such a scam. I am out $119.00 plus shipping etc. If you are shopping at Footsmart as I have done in the past, I would suggest ceasing and going to more reputable companies. If you do shop BUYER BEWARE. Read all the fine print, (I didn't see anything that would have alerted me to this practice) because at the end of the day the customer is treated with zero respect.

Orders always shipped promptly, well packed, quality shoes that last for years, comfortable, and I receive many compliments on them and requests for where did I get them. Last month I messed up my order and they went out of their way to fix it, even sending me a refund without my asking, even though the item was on sale with a no return policy.
Date of experience: July 18, 2018I've ordered 2 pairs of shoes from FootSmart. My credit card was charged right away. The very next day I've got a notification that my order was cancelled because they don't ship to Canada! I've got a refund but I lost $10 on the currency exchange rate. My opinion - absolutely unacceptable service.
Tip for consumers:If you are not in the US, don't order anything from this site - you won't get the product, and you will lose money like I did

Date of experience: April 18, 2021I purchased some shoes totaling $56.00 which I returned the next day. I was refunded $43.05 No explanation where my $12.95 went and why they kept that amount. The tax was $4.05 and protection (whatever that is) $2.95 is all that showed on the refund. That totals $7.00 not $12.95 Very unhappy and would never buy from them again. BEWARE
Tip for consumers:DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

Date of experience: February 26, 2021I ordered 2 pairs of boots, made sure they were the correct size because the site says "all clearance sales final!" Got the boots - brand spanking new in the box & fit like my old boots did! THEN I got an ad saying they were having a sale! Bought 2 MORE PAIRS of my favorite boots for a fraction of the cost retail! Ended up with 4 pairs of boots for the retail price of one pair! Received the second 2 pairs today & am extremely happy with FootSmart!

Date of experience: February 23, 2024I bought 6 pairs of shoes. I tried to return one pair but was told I could not due to liquidation sale. I pointed out these were not on sale and I paid full price, and their return policy says I have 30 days. The supervisor I spoke to was rude and refused to honor their policy clearly stated on website. He also refused to let me speak to his supervisor. Worst customer service I've ever encountered!
Date of experience: September 20, 2016This company is not willing to work with customers and stubbornly places policy in higher regard than their customers. I've bought shoes from many places and never been treated like that. Completely wasted $200! It's amazing they're still in business with all the competition out there today. Bought 2 pairs of boots, didn't fit, returned them in perfect condition and even paid $50 out of pocket because their cheap and outdated return form link for doesn't work properly, only to recieve a gift card that I can't use! I paid the shipping, the boots weren't worn, so what's the problem? Apparently they won't refund final sale items, and despite all the issues, the policy is more important than the customer. They don't mind screwing you even if you paid the shipping back. Disgraceful!
Date of experience: November 4, 2020I purchased what was advertised as high arch insoles. When they arrived, the was practically no arch support. The cost of the insoles was $14.99 and $6.99 shipping. I returned them using the return label provided and another $6.99 was deducted from my refund. The postage to send them back would have been less than $2 at the post office. Will never buy from again.

Then it took them a month to acknowledge that they even received the return. It took another week to process a return which to this date I have not received yet. Faye
Date of experience: April 4, 2018They added our email to their spam list and now we can not get off of it. Tried to unsubscribe but they just increased the number of spam emails. Sent them emails, they just get returned as not deliverable.
Date of experience: October 20, 2020According to their height/weight chart, their thigh high stockings should have fit me, but they barely came up over the knee. I emailed them and they said I could return them if they were unworn, but that I would have to pay the return shipping. I emailed that because the stockings were sized so wrong that I should not have to pay the return shipping. They did not reply or send a prepaid return shipping label.

Date of experience: May 19, 2016Bait and switch. Big notice on inside front cover of catalog, "20% off any shoe purchase in this catalog... when your product total is $39+". When I went to place my $80 order and entered the promo code, a message popped up saying it didn't qualify for the discount. I re-read the notice, and discovered an asterisk at the end. In tiny print at the bottom of the page was a list of exclusions that included just about every item in the catalog. I ordered the shoes from Amazon--they cost less and I got free shipping.

I've only had to return one pair, and they took care of it right away. I also appreciate that they are affiliated with coupon and cash back websites, so I can save even more money.
Date of experience: January 20, 2012I ordered a pair of shoes that were on clearance on April 28. Their website said that they were doing inventory the last week of March into the beginning of April so it would delay orders. Since I was ordering at the end of April I figured everything was good and I would get things in a timely manner. Their website says one to two days for processing and 5 to 7 days to receive the order. That's a total of nine business days. It is now May 27 and my order has not even been shipped yet. I have emailed and called and been told that they are "sorry for the short delay". But they do nothing. After my last conference they offered me a discount code for 20% off my next order. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! I had ordered these sandals specifically for a vacation in which I would be walking around in a warm climate a lot. I can't wear most regular sandals because there's no support in them. I figured ordering six weeks before vacation was plenty of time. But at this point I still don't know when they're coming. I am quite frustrated and angry. I would never order from them again and I would encourage you to think twice before ordering. If I could I would cancel the order and just get them from the manufacturer who has them on sale for the same price as what I paid through Foot smart. Horrible horrible service.

Date of experience: May 27, 2022I have been ordering shoes from Foot Smart for several years. Each time I ordered, my shoes were wonderful. This year in December I ordered my favorite work shoes and after 3 months the bottom of the right shoe began to peel off. I sent them back, to either be fixed or replaced, and did not hear from anyone for 3 weeks... so I e-mailed customer service and their response was that they were mailing my shoes back to me ' because they had been worn". And they would not be able to do anything. (3 month old shoes costing $136.00) I will not order another pair of shoes from Foot Smart, or recommend them to anyone.
Date of experience: May 7, 2015I found good compression hose- footsmart house brand- at a fraction of the price charged by other places. Also socks with non-bind tops that I couldn't find elsewhere. Shipping was relatively prompt and returns handled reasonably well.

Date of experience: April 23, 2018Bought and returned shoes from FootSmart. Notified Monday they received returns and would refund money in 2 business days. Called on the 3rd day, was told money was credited it my account, but takes 2 billing cycles to show. Called my bank, no money, payment I made was the same as cash, and atm accounts don't have billing cycles. Do not buy from them if there is a chance you have to return anything. I will never do business from them.

Date of experience: August 18, 2016I bought two pair of shoes. One for me fit ok; another for Mom. Her's did not fit. I read the instructions on the box. Said they had to be returned in the same box and I had to pay for postage. The shoes were $75. Plus tax Sent them back today; was charged 17.50 to return. Will not order from them again!
