So I purchased a jacket online. Once it was delivered it was too big so I started the return process. I received am email from the, with return instructions. So I printed the label and followed the instructions to the letter. They said find a Canada Post location and drop off the package there. So I packaged it up and headed to a Canada Post location in my local Shoppers location. When I arrived at the store I was told to"returns go there" as they pointed to the counter. I placed it on the counter and took 3 photos since it seemed odd that I was dropping a parcel with a Purolater label at the post office and didn't get a receipt. However that was the instructions. So 20 days later I called looking for my refund. I was told oh sorry, it was never scanned at the location so you'll have to go and talk to the place you dropped off the thing they had no idea I was dropping off, good luck. So long and short if it, if you are returning anything to this clown show of a company do not follow the instructions or you might as well kiss your money goodbye just like I will have to. Worst customer service I have ever experienced If I hadn't followed their instructions well that would be my issue but I did as told and then it's their issue. I was then told it was due to the Canada Post strike which ended 15 days before I returned the item. Just ridiculous!

Date of experience: January 20, 2025If I could give them 0 stars I would. I'm military and stationed overseas with my family. I ordered boots for my boys and they sent the wrong order. I let them know and they tell me they cannot provide me a return label and that I will have to pay for shipping. Thus, I had to come out of pocket for a mistake I did not make. This company will never get any of my money. Do not shop here! How to you ship to APO addresses but don't have the option for returning from
APO, especially when Columbia made the mistake. Just shameful! Tim Boyle! I want my money back for shipping!

Date of experience: December 2, 2024Columbia Sportswear has been an absolute nightmare to deal with. I spent over $500 on high-end coats, and now I'm left with nothing because of their negligence and refusal to issue a refund. They shipped my order using LaserShip/OnTrac, a company notorious for lost and stolen packages with a 1/5 rating on Trustpilot. Columbia doesn't inform customers of this shipping choice, leaving you to find out too late.
Tracking showed my package reached the adjacent state, just 15 minutes from my home, before being inexplicably sent hundreds of miles away. Despite my repeated calls to Columbia's customer service, I received nothing but conflicting and contradictory information from four different representatives. One told me to wait, another promised a refund after 14 days, a third denied that refunds were possible, and the fourth was nice but was not able to refund me. I am waiting for a resolution but am not optimistic given the horrific experience so far.
Then the situation became outright absurd: LaserShip/OnTrac falsely marked my package as "delivered." This is a blatant lie—my building is a secure concierge building, and packages must be left at the front desk. No delivery ever occurred. Despite clear evidence, Columbia refuses to refund me or take responsibility for their shipping vendor's failure.
I am now out over $500 with nothing to show for it. Columbia Sportswear's customer service is useless, their shipping practices are deceptive, and their refusal to address this issue is outright theft.
If you value your money and time, stay far away from this company. I will never shop with Columbia Sportswear again and strongly urge others to do the same. This company does not care about its customers or their hard-earned money.

I did not get in contact with them the phone rings out and no one is there to help you.Columbia refused to give me the payment i made for the boots or to replace the order. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM.

Date of experience: June 23, 2024Bought shoes for my son for Christmas. Less than 10 wears and they are falling apart. No worries, warranty covers them...but you have to pay to ship them back and then you ONLY get credit back. The process to even find out this is what you do, is ridiculous too...spent probably 10 hrs (added from multiple days) trying to get a clear answer on how to get a refund for shoes that were ordered and never arrived and then multiple chats on warranty and on hold at least 2 times. Different answers each time! Final person was like it is easy, you just print out the form, put order number in it and mail it to them...ON YOUR DIME for defective shoes! Not happy.

This company should be under investigation for class action lawsuit. Consumers should not have to deal with the unprofessional shenanigans. Customer service reps are scripted and useless.

Columbia won't fix it without going through a lengthy warranty process that would leave my child without a coat for the duration of winter, and they basically told me to buy a new coat. Date of experience: February 15, 2024Bought a pair of omni fairbanks boots from columbia online at the end of November 2023 by the end of January 2024 the stitching was coming apart around the upper ankle area on both boots. Hardly worn & will only get worse so sent an email in with photographs as it states on the web site. Didnt hear back so rang customer service to be told oh we need more photographs to show the undamaged parts of the shoes. Ok did that & again nothing back. A week later i get an email saying so sorry were very busy at the moment. I did read a lot of negative reviews for columbia on line after purchasing the shoes & the awful responses from columbia customer service leads me to believe the negative reviews are all 100% accurate. Wish i had read them before buying from this company, hopefully this review might stop someone else making a mistake & buying from Columbia sportswear on line?

They can see where UPS (their recommended carrier) now has possession of the package but is not forwarding it but will not help me or issue a refund. They are telling me it is my responsibility to research. I have talked to 3 levels of supervision with no remedy. DO NOT order directly from Columbia. Use a second party like Amazon who offers customer support and has a reliable return policy. I am out 187.00 and will never order from Columbia again.

I ordered a jacket on 1/15. It didn't actually ship until 1/26. Then, the bullcrap shipping company they use (OnTrac) says my package will be here on 1/30, no show. Then 1/31, no show. Then 1/1, no show. Then 2/1, no show. Then no movement at all until 2/6. I contacted Columbia to tell them to just give me a refund at this point. They proceeded to tell me they'll need to open an investigation with the shipping company which takes 14 business days. THEN get this, the shipping company claims they delivered my package on 2/6 "with proof" but Columbia refuses to show me the proof or give me a refund or replacement for a package I never received. Horrible, horrible customer service! I had to dispute the over $100 charge with my bank. DO NOT BUY FROM THEIR WEBSITE!

Purolator says they shouldn't have used an old tracking number and that there's no scheduled pick up for this package! I'll be contacting a lawyer.

I'm highly dissatisfied. I don't understand why the order can't be canceled since it hadn't shipped yet. Ludicrous policy they have.

I've owned numerous Columbia products, with all success, and this is my first pair of shoes. Very upset I won't even be able to wear them in rain or snow. Pretty much only neighbors come through the are it's kind of at a dead end... Well bought myself some boots for Wisconsin winter for my birthday because figured I'd have something... Nope they told me to pound sand and I can take it up with USPS... I'll likely be having to get my money back via credit card company.

Date of experience: December 14, 2023First-time customer, products defective right out of the bag, lacking quality control, unhelpful, arrogant, inflexible and condescending customer service, want me to run around town fixing their quality control problems at my time and expense. NEVER, NEVER, EVER AGAIN. The worst buying experience I ever had with any online company. The same issue would have taken 2 minutes with amazon.com to solve, at Columbia 45 minutes in the chat (incl. Helpless supervisor) with no result whatsoever. Leaving reviews and warning friends wherever I can about this disastrous company. Buy somewhere else. It's cheaper, possibly not broken right out of the box, and the customer service can only be better than here.
Tip for consumers:AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. They don't care about their customers, they are just arrogant, condescending and unhelpful. Oh, and they send you broken merchandise right out of the bag and then make it your job to run after your money. Good luck.

I own three coats and two pairs of boots from them, for different type of weather, and can say they are gorgeous. You really dont bother about whats happening outside - these clothes will serve you good. The only thing that can be considered as a drawback - their prices, quite high.

The service is good, everything arrived without any delay. The clothes are of high quality. It survived last year road trip through the mountains. I think it is still good for another one trip :)) But I do need some new shirts and I have noticed a few fancy items already:)

They returned the original jacket back to me saying the label was off or worn, but it wasn't. I sent them pictures showing the label is still on the jacket. Oscar from the support team was very helpful in helping me return the item for a second time. Good work Oscar!

I returned it to Columbia for repair and they sent me a generous credit that allowed me to order a beautiful replacement that I am thoroughly enjoying. Thank you Columbia!
