Being forced into premium status without speaking to the dog walker is an absolute farce. Had to pay for the full month. As it turns out, after speaking with the dog walker, she could not accommodate the times needed, and since her appointment was already booked, the cancellation fee was greater than the dog walking fee. Cancelled premium, but felt taken advantage of and nowhere on the website to share the frustration. An absolute rip-off!

Background checks have to be purchased per nanny (nanny's can bypass this) and you also have to complete one — pointless. Nanny's aren't vetter to ensure that they are US Citizens either — experienced this firsthand with someone I had in my home for 3 months; scary!

Then it wanted me to hire a new sitter after I'd set up the first one. Lastly, it says it will charge when service begins. It already charged my card for a service beginning in five days. Not impressed at all.

I have twins, 6 years of age, and one of them doesn't like have sitters at all. Leslie was so patient and fun, she won him over. Another woman made contact and we agreed that she would try it since she lives an hour away and has cat allergies and I have 4 cats. As we were emailing, the website came up with multiple other options that live closer but I had already made a commitment.

The walker I hired was great; the only drawback was the cost which is too much to maintain on a long-term basis. Since I am having hip issues, I will need a walker for some time. Date of experience: December 25, 2024Care.com has been a nightmare for my family. We started our membership in Novemberand signed up for the year. It was working ok for a week or 2. Then it stopped letting me message any caregivers and popped up an error message. This went on for a month or so and caused us to have to find care elsewhere even though we paid over 200 dollars for the year to use this site. I finally got frustrated and messaged tech support. I gave the tech support guy my sign in info and even he could not get messages to send to caregivers from my account. He said would push it up to management and I'd receive an email, which I never got. I reached out again asking for a refund since even their own tech support team couldn't get it to work. I was told that the memberships were non refundable and they weren't able to do anything for me. I let them know that under normal circumstances I understand not being refundable but if your unable to provide the services how can you charge for them? They refused to do any sort of refund. This is a disgusting way to do business and horrible customer service. Total SCAM to charge for a service you can not provide!
