Had a dishwasher that was installed wrong, and also leaked. A second crew came in to fix it, but were annoyed with the first crew, and rushed the job. As a result they never attached the dishwasher, to the sides of the counter. Had to have a third crew come in to fix the problems, created by the first two! The dishwasher was fine. But the people doing the installation are "very rushed and very hard to communicate with." Sorry to give them a poor rating, but these problems repeat over and over. They have not improved their service.
Date of experience: January 7, 2025My wife bought a new phone on sale at Best Buy on December the 5th (at about 8p.m.). She was told that she had until January the 4th to return it. The phone dropped a lot of calls and kept dropping Bluetooth connections. We brought it in to exchange on December 21st. They decided it had a faulty antenna. The service desk person then told us for the exchange we were going to have to pay a restocking fee (on a defective phone) and the difference in the sale price and the current price ($100) -- because the warranty was only for 15 days. Then gave a contradictory account of how they count "days".
We said no, go talk to the manager. He returned and said the manager would waive the restocking fee, but we needed to pay the difference. Again, we said no -- ya'll sold a defective phone to make it right. He came back again and said if we upgraded our Best Buy membership to the next level for $50, they would give us the new phone.
We did that. They moved everything to the new phone. We went home -- and canceled the membership upgrade and got the $50 refunded.

Date of experience: November 18, 2024We placed an online order on Nov. 27th, process was quick, simple to complete, order was shipped the same day, and the payment was received. Nov. 29th while checking our account, there where two charges for Best Buy. I called my bank to dispute the second charge. They told me, "Best Buy charged us for the payment and then placed a pre-authorization charge for the same payment. That some merchant do that to make sure they get paid, but they usually remove it when they receive the payment. Best Buy didn't and scheduled it to be removed Dec 4th!" Now, this greedy company got paid and pretty much held my account hostage. Their incompetence put our acct in overdraft, we couldn't access any funds coming in, because it went towards an overdraft that we didn't have!
I called Best Buy, which was a complete waste of time and energy. The rep kept repeating himself saying "there isn't a pre-authorization on the order". I told him "he's lying, my bank confirmed the charges, & I'm looking at them now as we speak". His supervisor was "conveniently" unable to speak to me...bet they were.
I've ordered online several times before and this has never happened. They've clearly changed and not for the best. My bank rep told me that "several customers have called in with the same issues concerning Best Buy". It was removed Dec 4th and our money wasn't affected. I will never ever order online with them again nor use my card in-store. Cash only from now on.

Date of experience: November 27, 2024I purchased a samsung laptop from them and the screen was cracked when i got it home. The next day when I went to return it the customer service manager refused to at least exchange it. Their website is worthless and now im stuck with a broken computer.

Date of experience: September 3, 20249 days ago I was told I'd receive a call back within 24 hours to schedule a free in home consultation to add a stereo system in my shed and a home theater system in my house. I've still not received a call back. Today, while trying to inquire and/or speak to a manager, I was transferred 9 times and spent over an hour on the call and still didn't get anywhere. One rep told me he could schedule the appointment for a fee of $99. When I pressed him about this fee for a "free" consult, he eventually said, "well, if you want me to be completely honest, these are no longer free." When I asked to speak to a manager, he told me that mangagers don't take phone calls. I am a manager myself and I will say this has been one of the most painful and mis-managed processes I've ever experienced.

Date of experience: August 20, 2024I took my cell phone in for a screen repair and Geek squad repaired the screen but damaged my phone. Management denied any wrong doing and after paying $199, all I have to show for it is a nice looking phone that no longer functions properly. I was offered to purchase another phone as a resolution. The phone and warranty originally cost me $1250. Please beware!

I came over a nearby supermarket, and damn, the prices were kinda unpleasant. It was too expensive for me to pay money for almost the same model that my TV had, but when I bought it, it was twice cheaper!
Fortunately, I stumbled into these guys, this platform and decided to acquire a new TV via them. It's a real bargain! I didn't pay much for a whole new TV and got a better model. Niccceee...
Date of experience: March 8, 2024I ordered a "Geek Squad" refurb Xbox Series S from Best buy. When I received it, it was missing the battery pack AND I was sent the wrong charge cord without the AC wall plug. It uses the USB mini, NOT THE USB-C. After an hour plus going back and forth with online chat customer service, online Geek Squad, to which both just ended the chat without warning. To talking to someone at the call answer center. All told me to drive an hour away and return my item for a refund WTF! I ask them to just sent me the battery pack and I'd buy my own charger... No one would listen to reason or even cared. Use Amazon people! Boycott Best Buy! They won't even let you call your local Best Buy store. All calls are routed to a central call center and will not connect you with the local store. Boycott, Boycott! They have even blocked their own site from receiving reviews. "This function is no longer available" SERIOUSLY?!

Date of experience: March 8, 2024We were shopping for a dishwasher and told the salesman that it had to have an open bottom to connect to our floor-mounted water source. He said it absolutely would. It arrived, and it had a closed bottom, so we sent it back. Without our knowledge or consent, they ordered a second one and charged us for it - the exact same one. We called and got customer service in India, where we were passed to 5 different people over the space of 1.5 hours. Finally, we got the right one ordered, but were told we wouldn't get credited for the first one for up to 7 days. All of these were their errors. Why are we made to float them an interest-free loan for a week for their mistakes? We canceled, and will never deal with them again.

Date of experience: March 22, 2024On 1 Feb, I wanted to make a purchase of seasons 2,3&4 of The Last Man on Earth for My Husband. He is Deaf. He enjoyed watching series one, which had closed captions, English Subtitles. Before making my online purchase I went to Bestbuy's on line helpline and did a live chat with their agent. I asked her specifically if the three seasons had CC, s. After investigating she came back online and said " Definitely YES" So I ordered them and a friend of mine in California had them shipped to Australia. They arrived yesterday... and... guess what... they do not have subtitles. Can you imagine my Husband's disappointment. I emailed Bestbuy and did a live chat, so unhelpful. The original enquiry agent gave me incorrect information on a purchase of $140. So incompetent, but, Oh yes, they got a sale. Well... Bestbuy... GOODBYE.

Date of experience: February 26, 2021Purchased an air fryer for a Christmas gift. Had a total knee replacement on 12/29 and was told I could not get a credit card refund on 1/31 when I attempted to return the unopened box with my receipt Just started walking around again.
Customer service was non existent.
Will not shop at this store ever again.
Tip for consumers:Check your receipt and do not have surgery and expect them to understand why you are late trying to return a unopened item.

Date of experience: January 31, 2023I dropped off an AV receiver for repair on 10/21/21 at the Happy Valley AZ store. 2 weeks later-no word. I called the "store number". All phone numbers go to a national call center. I got to a Geek Squad agent in about 10 minutes. The agent put me on hold to look for my order. He never came back! I hung up after 20 min. I called the national number, again, stating that I wanted to lodge a complaint. After a brief hold, the agent connected me to BestBuy HR department. It was evident from the phone tree - no access to customers - how little regard for the customer exists within their entire company. I would stop watching television and listening to music if Best Buy was the only store to sell the equipment. Good bye, Best Buy. Hello, Crutchfield.

Delivery/installation crew claimed the water supply fixture for the dishwasher/sink was "totally" corroded and needed to be replaced at an additional cost of $450, on top of the purchase price. How convenient that they were there to do the job.

Plumbers also told me the wiring harness recommended by Best Buy and purchased for the install was risky and not recommended, but they did not offer an alternative. I assume that involved some effort to line their pockets as well.
Really poor form on the part of the plumbers, trying to milk someone for their personal gain when they were there to do a job for Best Buy. From the reviews I read after the fact, I don't find it surprising that Best Buy is affiliated with dishonest brokers.
I requested a complete refund. Despite being able to take my money immediately upon purchase, of course, they told me it would take days to process the refund.
Buyer beware!
Products used:None. Still have my old broken dishwasher. Anybody that can deliver a Bosch 300 series 24" with a recessed handle, installed with the old dishwasher hauled away for $1,100 or less, I'm all in.

Date of experience: December 29, 2023I bought an Amanda dishwasher in September 2020 from Best Buy With a 5 yr warranty. Total was $500.85 It leaves dishes soak and wet, never dries or gets hot enough to clean well. Went to the store, offered to buy the $1200. Top of the line one but they refused to take back the lemon so I am stuck with a piece of junk that needs to be put in the alley. Repair man came twice and said there is nothing wrong with the washer, it's just the way it performs. Thing is all made of plastic so it will never get hot enough. Sharp plastic on inside top door. I Will Never Shop at BB as long as I live. I told my friends and family to never shop there because there is no lemon law at that store.
Tip for consumers:Be careful what you buy at Best Buy because if it's a lemon product you are STUCK with it. The first year you must go through the manufactures warranty. After that you must deal with the store warranty for " like me 5 years" I didn't want a refund just offered to upgrade the washer by double the $ so they and myself wouldn't take a lose. Bottom line, it's a piece of junk, I'm out $500.85, offered to buy a $1200. One if they would take the lemon back, they refused, so never again.

I didn't care if it had a scratch on the side, but you think someone would have plugged it in to see if at least the lights come on before they delivered it! It was completely dead on delivery. It is now 18 days since they picked up the dead fridge and I have not yet been reimbursed. Yesterday I went to the store and no one would help me except to say a check was mailed 13 days ago. MAILED! Why not credit the credit card I used? If your mail is like mine you know how "secure" my reimbursement check is. This is just the highlight. There were many other bad customer service issues.
Tip for consumers:Go somewhere else. I eventually got what I needed at Lowes and it was delivered the next day

For some reason they shipped my product from California (paid extra for their "expedited shipping") using UPS ground. Literally the other side of the United States from where I live. Called them up to cancel the product, but they said they can't. 1 day shipping became two weeks. Not gonna buy from them again. Not the mention my phone number, CC, and address all got leaked the moment I placed my order. After minutes of my order I received some scam call asking my full CC number saying they are best buy, and surprisingly they know exactly what I ordered.

Date of experience: April 23, 2023Customer Service is a joke. I've spent 7 hours on the phone over the past month because of a failed tv delivery. I'm a Total Tech member, but if you need help with anything beyond scheduling an installation, Customer Service has no idea how to help you. Their default response is to transfer you to another department. I have been transferred dozens of times, been disconnected several times, been denied talking to a supervisor, and been offered a gift card that proved to be worthless. Ultimately I gave up trying to work with them. Get your product, get out, and don't look back. Certainly don't waste your time trying to get help.
Tip for consumers:The products are fine (they're not made by Best Buy), so they should excel at service to support their products. If you don't need service or support, they can have great prices - especially their open-box products.

Their staff for the most part are actually knowledgeable... and if you get help from someone that's not sure, an expert for the particular field is found easily. Their warranty offerings are also way better than any manufacturer's warranty and they stand behind them strongly.

Also like the option of considering their re-manufactured (used) computer products at an even better price. I've purchased these before and have never had any quality issues over years of use.
