I called in Nov 2024 - Dec2024 and Jan15 2025 - for a return label to send contacts back my script got changed. They sent me the new box but Never sent the return label for the others — 3 phone calls slider a return label to be sent to me in mail - So Feb17,2025 they send me a email with a pdf with label attached- then turned around SAME DAY and TOOK OUT $114.99 out of my account with out consent… Stay away from this place - manager said he would put my money back in my account right then - never did - I wrote a letter to the Better Business Bureau on them! Do not give them your bank information- Get a freedom card and put the exact amount and do your order from that card - only add money to it when you do an order! This place is a SCAM - and customer service and the little guy as management- need some courses! Go to Sam's club get your contact - A lot Cheaper!
Tip for consumers:I will never give this company my business again — you don’t take money out of someone’s account- without Consent — that’s stealing —- when your company never would send a return label - I called for one numerous times !!!

Date of experience: February 17, 2025I am sorry to say that I am shop with 1-800 contacts. They have always been cooperative with excellent customer service. To offer a gift card after you make a large purchase was wonderful,But now they are not taking any responsibility because the gift cards DO NOT WORK! They only refer you to a website or an 800 number to call -which neither you offer a live person! It's a complete runaround!company does not support their offers or take any responsibility!horrible

To make matters even worse, when I call 1- 800 contacts they give me an 800 number to call. I specifically ask is it a lie person and was told yes! It is just a recording, lecturing for you back to the website, and the website that refers you back to the phone number! 1-800-contacts takes no responsibility at all-Which is a huge disappointment especially since I’ve always loved this company for their excellent, Customerservice! Offer a gift card that doesn’t work I believe is fraudulent

Date of experience: August 12, 2023If you use insurance they take away your 25% discount for being a new customer as well as any rebates you're supposed to get from the lens company. And they even raise the price of your lenses! So many great incentives to buy from this company, not! I don't know who is running into the place these days but they're running it right into the ground I'm never going to buy anything again.

Did not have to leave home and drive to the store wait in line. So quick and easy I will be ordering my contact from them from now on. It did cost.22 more but with the price of gas a big savings
Date of experience: September 25, 2023After days of no update, I deci6to send them a follow up email, turns out they are out of stock of the contacts I order and pushed my orders' ETA to few weeks than what they said after I ordered. Disappointing that I have to follow up to give an update. Most online places will give you an update automatically and be apologetic about it. Reason why I'm giving them 2 stars is because at least somebody responded to me.

Date of experience: April 17, 2023I was given the opportunity to send a text when I looked for a chat after I learned my order for immediate delivery was delayed. My text was responded to within minutes and a conversation ensued wherein I knew I was being taken care of. I was even able to place a new order through the text thread. I have been refunded the "immediate delivery" fee after waiting out the day to see if my lenses would arrive (they will be here tomorrow), and I have been consistently and politely responded to within a few minutes after every text. I am an experienced and constant(!) online consumer and have yet to have resolution in such a pleasant and easy way until today.

Date of experience: April 13, 2023I recently ordered contacts from 1-800 Contacts. After placing the order, I found another online site had them for less, so I contacted 1-800 Contacts (the same day) and asked for a refund, as I was planning to order them from the other company. Upon contacting them, I was told that they would match the price. Cool. The price match would have resulted in a $40 refund, which I was told was issued that day. It never came. I reached out a few weeks later and was told that the refund would post any day. One month later, I reach out for the *third* time and was told that the processing department refused to issue the refund.
I have four contact wearers in my family--their misrepresentation immediately lost their company four customers. Perhaps the $40 was worth it for them.
Date of experience: April 12, 2023Ordered contacts paid for overnight shipping took two days to get.They said they had to confirm with doctor.Uploaded my prescription to them still had to confirm which was fine but still sent me wrong lenses for one eye. Turns out they never confirmed anything and sent me them anyway which were wrong and didn't match my prescription i sent them.Two weeks later still couldn't get the replacements for my one eye. Ten emails and calls later still working on it no contacts sent to me yet.Finally said enough is enough and sent the years worth of lenses back.Would never do any business with them again.

Date of experience: January 6, 2024You can pay 20$ for a perscription on the site, however after you pay and finish the test all it says is "test complete" and no update about when your perscription is going to be verified by a doctor, or even if they will send an email update. FINALLY 1 day later I got an email from them verifying perscription, clicked on link that says "order now with your renewed perscription" or whatever and it doesnt automatically even enter your $#*!ing perscription into the checkout and there nowhere to upload it. So THEN you have to wait for another email saying we cant ship your order because you need to upload perscription - now this link is broken on mobile. Basically you have to sift through links in order to do the most basic $#*!. It took like 2 $#*!ing days to order contact lenses for no reason.

Date of experience: January 27, 2024I scanned my contact case and it uploaded my prescription but they still wanted it verified so I sent them an email of my prescription and they wouldn't except it, then they wanted my doctors name and number to verify. I don't understand why they wouldn't just sell me the ones I wanted, they're incredibly difficult to deal with and I will make sure I go out of my way to tell people not to use them.

Date of experience: August 6, 2023I complained about the price they had on the invoice was in US currency but 1800 Contacts hides that. I paid over $50 more just for the exchange. They sent me an RMA to return the contacts but that RMA was not valid when I when to UPS. After that 1800 Contacts told me to make my own shipping label, pay for the shipping and they would reimburse me. With the running around they expected and the time I already wasted and will waste with 1800 Contacts I kept the contacts. Plus. If I sent the contacts back I do not trust 1800 Contacts to reimburse me for the shipping or to give me a refund. The $50 I overpaid is cheaper than losing the contacts, my money and time.

Date of experience: July 2, 2023Upon ordering my contacts and being overcharged they will not match competitions price I was charged twice and upon reviewing my prescriptions they have been sending me the wrong contact lenses script. It is cheaper to order from Wal Mart
Tip for consumers:There are other contact lenses providers and WalMart is cheaper they will not beat competitors prices or match them 90 dollars is way too expensive. I was promised competitors prices and free shipping. Never happened

Date of experience: February 8, 2022Due to certain financial setbacks as a result of the pandemic, I held off on ordering contacts because of the expense. I had already purchased glasses through my local optometrist, but waited to get contacts since they're purely cosmetic. I just got back on my feet again after nearly a year out of work, and decided with summer coming up that I'd like to be able to wear sunglasses, again. So, I verified my prescription was still valid for a few more months, and attempted to order contracts not once, but TWICE from this site. Both times they rejected my prescription as invalid after making two lengthy calls to my eye care provider, who could not tell me why my prescription was invalid and that no one had contacted them as claimed in their email. Total bllcrap and a waste of time! Had I known I was locked into purchasing exclusively from my optometrist, then I'd have saved myself the effort of researching what reputable online source!

Date of experience: October 18, 2017I ordered contacts in the last week of the year with what was left in my health savings account. They first could not read the prescription I sent so I had to send photos of the boxes. This went around their customer service loop of order takers a couple of times before it finally landed in Brittany's hands. Brittany could at least read. She was sharp enough to notice that I made a error and didn't pick contacts for the astigmatism as it said on the box photo I sent. Rather than just calling me or emailing me or doing anything about this minor error, Brittany took the lazy way out and just cancelled the order! Now, the new year has passed. I called to beg to have the order reopened or backdated or whatever... nope. I lose out on $900 in health savings money, 1-800 contacts loses out on a $900 order and a lifelong customer all because of lazy Brittany who can't bridge the gap as to why people are placing such large orders with them in the last week of year! Think Brittany!

Date of experience: January 7, 2021I never seem to have a smooth transaction with 1-800 contacts. I am inundated with emails telling me " my contacts are waiting for me". Baloney! ALWAYS back ordered then I call or text about my order I get three different answers as to when I can expect them. Seamless ordering through another lens provider. Cheaper easier and quicker. Bye bye 1-800 Contacts!

They said that they would check my problem, which was them charging me for an order I did not make, and this "agent" has been typing for over 30 minutes now. Honestly. They don't want to help you. They just want to take your money. Screw you 1800 contacts. Give me my money back.

Date of experience: March 31, 2019I ordered contacts for my daughter. I accidentally entered her old prescription. The prescription I entered had expired over a year ago. She received the contacts and noticed the prescription was wrong when she wore them. Thankfully they are supposed to refund me for the rest of the box. I am out $30 for contacts that were opened and shipping. Customer service said they were not required to verify the prescription with her eye doctor. So I guess they don't really care about eye care as they promote and you can order contacts even if you don't have a prescription. I also got an email a week later saying they were still trying to verify her prescription and encouraged her to take their exam. I acknowledge I should have paid closer attention to the prescription date, but I thought it would all be verified with her eye doctor.

Date of experience: May 15, 2022This site didn't tell me I'd need my prescription until I hit order and then said they would have to verify but still held hundreds of dollars on my account. If I'd know this I would have just gone to my doctor myself to pick them up tomorrow but wanted to try ordering online. I only had the boxes for my contact with the prescription on them not my actual prescription. I find it extremely wrong to hold money on my account before verifying my prescription and putting the order through.
Date of experience: February 6, 20221800 contacts is a very poorly run business. I have had nothing but issues everytime I try to use them. I updated my prescription and they still would cancel my orders saying it was not updated regardless of it working prior. Then when they cancel orders the always have issues getting emails sent out to you. I waited two weeks for contacts to find that they were never sent because of this issue and not a single person contacted me. Then when I overnight them they still have issues and never take responsibility. The price difference is not much. I would always order directly through your provider. Will never order from them again.

Date of experience: March 30, 20201800contacts is way cheaper than my optomotrist. I think optometry is a racket so I order 4 years worth of contacts at once from 1800contacts and get a sweet deal. They have good service, prompt shipping, and their prices are pretty much better than any other contact place I've found.
