I spent almost $100 on party supplies in seperate orders. The last order I placed I realized had the wrong address on the confirmation email, so I call them and the girl just flat out tells me there's nothing they can do. I get upset and hang up but then think how unfair that is so I call back to talk to the supervisor, who also doesn't care at all and cancels the order but doesn't offer to place it with my same discounts applied. Overall, super rude and no value in their customers 0% satisfied!

I have attached a couple pictures and pictures, doesn't show all that were broken but I took a picture of enough to show what they look like.
Date of experience: February 11, 2019I used birthday express for years. Pretty typical cheap, cute party supplies. Usually an item or two comes in broken but I never worried about it before. This last order several items came in broken. I emailed them and got a response but no action. I sent pictures of the damages- no response. I have emailed them several times since checking in- no response. Not impressed! Their customer service sucks! That is all.
Date of experience: June 6, 2019You have to pay to ship product back and do not get refunded for shipping costs. There are restocking fees on certain items and they are very particular about what items are returnable at all. For example, unopened package of cupcake toppers, wrapped and sealed in plastic, can't be returned because as the customer service rep said, "they are edible." They are Gold Foiled paper decorations glued to toothpicks... not sure who would eat those. Anyway, they have great products but you must be sure that you want and need everything you order and that it will definetely get to you in time, or else your stuck with it.
Tip for consumers:Make sure you have plenty of time for delivery and do not order anything you are do not 100% want. You buy it, you're stuck with it.

Have had to file complaints with my bank and stop ordering. This company shouldn't be in business. Horrible service and doesn't ship what customers pay for.

Didnt come with the stick or the eye cover you pay for and they want you to pay for return shipping cost! Such a bad purchase. Go to party city or even walmart dont purchase from this company

Date of experience: April 23, 2022I was a bit hesitant on choosing them due to some of the negative reviews, but the prices were great and I thought I would give them a try. My order arrived on time (earlier than expected actually) and all items were in great shape and accounted for. I saved over $20 going with Birthday Express and my overall experience was great.
Tip for consumers:You have to remember that after they ship your product, the timespan is dependent on the packaging facilities that it is sent to. If you have an shipping issue...track your package and contact whoever has it....fedex, usps, or ups. Sometimes packages arrive late because of other facilities.

DO NOT order anything from this company. They take your money, send you the wrong item, and never respond to your inquiries!

I made an order and decided to go a different route tried canceling order within 24 hrs and was told once order is placed I am all pretty much SOL and if I wanted to I could pay 39 dollars for return shipping when I already paid 39 dollars to ship it and the item was 22 dollars so I guess your supposed to just take a loss. Pretty much if you order from them it's a loose loose situation I gave them one star but would prefer to give them no stars.

FedEx failed to ship my stuff per contacting Birthday Express they promised to ship my stuff again by June 22 and they did not re -delivered my items eventhough I contacted them many times letting them know hiw FedEx had fail to deliver. More than 7-10 business days later and still no refund, no birthday supplies, and no help from a give $#*! company that has lied to me all along.
Date of experience: July 6, 2020This has been the worst experience in a long time. We placed an order for our kids first birthday couple of weeks before the event. I should admit they did send all the stuff in time but just to the wrong address. I have been contacting their customer support since the last 1 week but they just respond with the same phrase "Someone's gonna contact you soon". They have no idea who is gonna contact, when or what the next step is.
It has been an embarrassment as we are stuck here 2 days before the event and none of the stuffs we ordered is with us and now we have to go look around stores to find a replacement for such a major event.
Order from them at your own risk and if you have some money to waste!

I have been ordering from Birthday Express for over 5 years and have never had a problem with my order. I would highly recommend their site to anyone!
Date of experience: January 20, 2016They FALSELY ADVERTISE and THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EXTREMELY RUDE! I ordered "realistic" cat plushies and the ones they sent were NOT the ones pictured online. (I've attached the photos, first is what they were SUPPOSED to look like, the second are the ones I got) There was no disclaimer; no message saying the items may look different than pictured. The ones they sent were cheaply made from the Oriental Trading Company! I called and they sent me the wrong cats AGAIN! At this point, my daughter's birthday party is RUINED! The nasty, rude customer service supervisor, Jo Dean, refused to refund my money, refused to connect me to a higher supervisor, and insisted she would not lose her job over her attitude. BOTTOM LINE: A LOUSY COMPANY WITH TERRIBLE, RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! JUST GO TO PARTY CITY!
Date of experience: June 28, 2019First off, they have two different websites with different names, which I didn't realize until after I ordered from both sites because one of the sites was out of stock of a few items that I needed for my kids birthdays. I paid for two day shipping on both orders. One of the orders says it won't be delivered until four days after when it's supposed to be delivered and the other order still hasn't even shipped and they're both supposed to be delivered today. I've emailed and emailed them trying to get someone to help me, with no response from EITHER website. So now I'm out of $60, half of which was spent just for shipping AND MY ITEMS WONT EVEN BE DELIVERED ON TIME, and I won't have some of the most important things I needed for my kids parties.

I'm sure not dangerous to eat but still. Sent 3 emails and received no response, or refund. Terrbile company and I will NEVER do business with them again, Buyer beware!
Date of experience: October 14, 2015Needed help to confirm whether or not an order went through. The male representative refused to help me. And then when I asked if there was another rep that I could speak to, he demanded to know why and proceeded to bully me. Have never seen anything like it in my life. Guess they aren't worried about losing customers. Really, really bad customer service people. I wish I could give NO stars.
Date of experience: September 29, 2017Placed an order for first birthday. It was guaranteed to be delivered on 3-3. Well guess what it never came. Called on the 3rd is was still in warehouse called on the 4th still in warehouse called the first time on the 5th the lady said the shipping label had been printed and it would be shipped overnight. Called back on the 5th at 6pm and a different person told me it was still in warehouse. So now I am one day away from party with no supplies. Also refund takes 3-5 business days. Also they knew they were having problems meeting deadlines but no one informed the buyers of this!
Date of experience: March 5, 2015I ordered items for my grandson's first birthday. I paid $10 extra to have items sent faster. I called when they did not arrive at promised date. They said they had mistakenly shipped it regular mail and it wouldn't arrive before party. They promised to refund my $10 and send shipping labels when items arrived for free shipping. Now they say refund will take 5-10 business days and shipping labels take 24 hours before emailed. Wow... they collected by money the day I ordered. Very dissatisfied!
Date of experience: June 19, 2018I order a complete party in a box on 2-24. I noticed on my confirmation that my custom birthday banner wasn't customized, but I was charged for it. So I called them. I waited on the phone for 55 mins and no one ever answered. I called back 4 more times and still NOTHING. I sent 3 different emails trying to get the banner fixed was told to call the useless line OR order the banner again and they would "try" to refund the money. Forget that a billion dollars couldn't make me order from them again. Today I called their corporate office and for the first time was able to speak to a representative, who was no help AT ALL. She told me she would transfer my call to her supervisor, whom you can imagine never answered. I left a voice mail and he has yet to call back. I was guaranteed to have my product on the 5th of March. That day came and went and I still haven't received anything. I will never shop here again & i feel bad for anyone who does!
Date of experience: March 6, 2015Ordered October 1 with a guaranteed delivery date of October 9. It is October 20 and I still do not have the items I ordered. After a long wait to get a hold of someone, they said they don't know where my stuff is or how to to get it to me in time. They supposedly will refund my money within 48 hours. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. All other reviews are right with the negative reviews. Just wish I had checked out their reviews before ordering.
Date of experience: October 20, 2015I placed my order with them on Oct 6 with guaranteed delivery by the 13th. I also ordered some things from Oriental Trading the same day. By Friday I had received shipping confirmation from Oriental Trading but not Birthday Express. On Saturday, I called their customer service and they confirmed that it had not shipped but was scheduled to be on the truck and sent out that day (10/10). By Sunday morning I had shipping confirmation but the tracking number was not found. Checked Monday, still nothing so I called back and she said it was picked up Monday as UPS didnt pick up from them on Saturday but they upgraded my shipping to overnight. I received my package on Tuesday as guaranteed, but there were items missing. Called Wed and they replaced them no questions asked and guaranteed them to be shipped in time for my party. The next day (Thurs) I had not received a shipping confirmation so I called back and they said that it had not shipped but they were sending it overnight and it would be to me by Friday (I told them my party was on Friday). My replacement items did arrive on Friday but around 6p.
Long story short, I will not order from them again. While their customer service folks were helpful and did follow through on their action items, the stress of having to constantly follow-up was more than it was worth. My advice is that if you do order from them, follow-up every other day until you have a tracking number. Each time I called customer service it was a bit of a wait, but there is an option for them to call you back which I utilized so that I wasn't left holding the phone for an extended period of time.
This company really needs to review their warehouse management/shipping processes because their current process is simply not working. I only gave them 2 stars because the customer service reps that I spoke with were very friendly and helpful.
