Date of experience: August 3, 2023My Sony pos TV is 1-1/2 years old. Purchased extra warranty, everything to be protected for 5 years. 2 weeks ago, on several occasions the screen began freezing up. NOTHING would unlock it other than unplugging the power cord. The warranty still falls under Sony. They deduced it was my "internet"? I tried for 2 days trying to convince them it's not the internet, to get them to resolve the real problem. I filed complaint (supposedly as they refuse to forward a copy of my complaint) about their enept support team. I'm now without a $1400.00 and no recourse

I asked the Sony employees working the phones exactly how will you get a repair technician to my home when you are over 8 thousands miles away? Never got any answers after dozen calls.I now refuse to talk to 3rd world incompenets. They lie about everything. Horrid service now from Sony!
Tip for consumers:Read all the 1 & 2 star reviews on Sony TV's that are a detailed review by legit customers. Don't throw away your money on any warranty from Sony or Best Buy. Geekquad repair people are also dishonest & not compenet.
Products used:Sony's defective big screen TV is horrid. I will now buy a cheap TV and toss in the trash verses calling in a con artist TV repair person from Sony or any hole in the wall TV repair shop.

At least come out with your own hard drive if you're money hungry wtf, I'm switching to PC peace out $#*!ing jap bums (and no I don't feel bad about it)

And I called SONY to send me a new lens, they said they are going to investigate. Fine, I understand SONY need to do the investigation. However, then Sony told me that they are going to investigate the issue either their fault or Fedex fault and they are not going to pay my money back or give me the lens if they can't find anyone to take the responsibility! So I am the one suffers? I did anything wrong? Maybe the wrong thing I did is to trust SONY!

When we got it we was told not to leave on pause as it burns out the screen….we followed this very carefully….however the screen has still burned out and leaves lines across the TV….back and forth with Sony….but they now say it's not covered and there is a warning in the paperwork……WTF….,! So they sell a tv….with a pause button….but when you pause…it burns the screen out…WHAT A JOKE…. My previous LG tv was a 1/3 of the price, had it for 9 years….and was ace….now got a very expensive Sony and it's screen is burned out…NEVER BUY A SONY OLED TV….! FARCICAL quality and service

Date of experience: May 4, 2023I bought a Sony XZ2 Compact from AliExpress which failed after three weeks of use. The battery would not accept charge and depleted within hours. Sony have inspected the product and confirmed that it is genuine, but because I did not buy it from a UK retailer they are not interested in either fixing it or providing any compensation. I appreciate legally I have little recourse, but come on Sony - talk about diabolical customer service. I won't be buying another Sony product in my lifetime.

Date of experience: April 5, 2022I bought a car stereo unit which had terrible sound with a very weak bass and silly equaliser controls. A few months later the function switches started playimg up and i was unabe to play radio and cd's!
Worst part is they said its out of warranty but I argued by LAW it should last a few years not months!
Never again will I buy their plastic rubbish.
Tip for consumers:Dont ever buy Sanyo car audio or even their rubbish TV's ok! DONT DO IT!

Date of experience: June 2, 2022I've tried now for 4 months+ to retrieve my 2sv codes from support as I no longer have access to my old console. I try to use the online portal which goes in literal circles. I call the Support line and if I press 1 for account help my call is immediately drops. I had to go to the hardware people to have THEM transfer me, the hardware folks were fine, except after she transferred me I was still dropped. I'm so happy to have spent 5 years on their platform building up a library for them to deny me any kind of access to it. At this point I just hope I can save any of you from making the mistake of trusting this company. Save yourself money and broken controllers/walls. Just go buy an Xbox, they probably have a solid enough company to provide at least the bare minimum support, which still dwarves what Sony has done to be helpful.
Tip for consumers:It would have been nice to know that if I didn't memorize all of the ONE TIME USE back up codes ON my console that I would never see my account again.. since you cant look at the codes.. without logging in.. which you cant do.. without the codes.. so idiotic.

But not Sony pre existing account worked for years do the exact same as all other accounts. Bamn does not work anymore. Sony help send you to bunch of vids that do not solve problem. Worst part they will not give code for an agent live on phone to help.

It costs them nothing to allow us the pleasure to enjoy an artist's music through a different player than Youtube. I already paid to own this music but I want to play it through this player!

Date of experience: January 12, 2023This is three years after buying a product, unlike the many immediate reviews. Bought a Sony-Zeiss objective for a hefty price tag, but noticed later on that humidity condenses between the lenses and, after evaporating, fogs them until cleaned.
After opening up the thing and cleaning it up, I needed one spare part to restore the objective. Called Zeiss: "Can't help you. Can't provide you with factory number. Go to Sony."
Called Sony: "Can't help you. Go to company X, which handles these in your country."
Company X: "Can't help you. Check out catalogue for spare parts."
Catalogue: "Don't have $#*!."
Another example of bureocratic bull$#*! from three different companies, none of which want to do their thing. Ended up trashing the objective. What pisses me off the most is that the factory number could had been given easily, even tracked on importyeti.com for US imports, but they refused.
Tip for consumers:Be sure that you won't need the support, because there isn't necessarily any.

I can't get through to anyone via their phone number about it and their fb chat representative sent me in circles trying to discourage me. I warned him this would be the result and waited days; no response. Hope it was worth it to you. Update: I got through to them but they want me to send my controller out for repair when it would cost them no more to replace it and would be more effective with time for me; bad attitudes. Bought an Xbox over this behavior.
Date of experience: March 8, 2020Long story short, brought a high end 55inch TV, broke with the first year (I have a 5 Year warranty) screen Just stopped working which they replaced but quality was much less (cheap screen), then the screen became unwatchable so they replaced the mother board and it went downhill from there. The refuse to fix or replace the issue (SONY WILL NOT HONOR YOUR WARRANTY) I have been emailing back and forth for 4 YEARS! And what they will do is get you to run errands for thdn (30 and counting) until you give up. So I decided to share my view as they have not intentions to fix the issue I will ensure EVERYONE knows about SONY and please buy other brand they have better reputation these days while SONY hangs on to its old days of glory

I purchased this Sony product, however Sony seems to have disregard for making their software available for LINUX systems. Sony is not the only corporate villain in these regards. So I'm to study their Software and build my own software. I abhor Sony and other corporate players who stand in defiance of consumer freedoms! I don; t have a receipt handy at this moment, but I can prove one if necessary, I purchased my Product at London Drugs in April or May of 2021. Did know I would need the software till this week.
Tip for consumers:If your computer is running a Linux OS, sony does not give any regard for the software that your product requires, this goes for firmware, and software.
