  • Network Solutions Review

I have been with network solutions for about 6 years. Our site has been down numerous times. One time for over a week! I have even spoken to people who have worked there and they say it's a terrible company to work for. One again, our site is down today so I spoke to hosting and they said they needed to transfer me to the e-commerce team and the e-commerce team is closed! It's nice to know there is no one there if your site goes down over the weekend. Tip for consumers:Stay away from network solutions Products used:This is a website service Service Value Quality
Always excellent follow up and response by the great tech team at Network Solutions. Loyal customer for over 20 years! Products used:Tech support Service Value Quality
The first time I used Network Solutions was in the 1990s and it had great customer service. But it was bought out and since that time it tries to milk people for more and more money. On top of that, the customer service is nonexistent: for the last few months our mail server has not worked and customer service just ignores the issue. It seems they spent all their money on sales and little on updating their system Products used:Webhosting Service Value
I have had a lot of trouble in the past with all the components of maintaining a web site. ProConsulting offered me a package deal of setting up a trimmed-down site that promotes primarily a single book, with links to the author, the book description and ways to buy the book. The team got the site up in the promised time frame of less than a month, and followed up all my instructions and revisions. Tip for consumers:I wish I had known earlier how simple and effective this service this is. I would have saved a lot of trouble spending money in other ways. Products used:I used an all-inclusive web site. They charged less than $400 and delivered within a month. It has a lot of bells and whistles but I didn't have to know about them all. It was seamless. I was promoting a book about World War 2 in the Netherlands, "The Winged Watchman." The website does the job, sending those who click on it to sites where they can buy the book or sign up for updated information. The service is provided by ProConsulting, and it was done efficiently with one person as the contact. My contact was with Gwen.
There are not enough characters in this field to express how I feel about this company. 1 start is too much for them. Run away, believe me, you'll regret it if you do business with them sooner or later. Tip for consumers:Beyond awful. Service Value Quality
Jay (Justin) employed his in-depth expertise in web design and editing, as well as his patient and cheerful customer service manner, to brighten up our company website. Answering my questions, he provided better ideas than what I had intended. He guided me through handling website photos and how I might edit them to achieve a standard look. He described how the coloring would work, and what the best practice was for color selection. He pointed out how the features and blocks work, and how to successfully edit and delete those. He led me to the SEO and Company information pages to ensure we had the proper info in them for success. His support was an exceptional customer service experience. Awarded 11 out of 10 points! My compliments, Sir! Products used:Website design and editing Service Value Quality
Their business model is tricking people into signing up for things they don't want. They send tons of emails trying to confuse customers. Use a different company! Tip for consumers:never use this company. every click is a scam.
If you ever do business with them I'm sorry. Cheap is an understatement. Phone support is third world at best. People repeating the same stuff and can't grasp what your telling them. When doing domain unlocks their UI doesn't work even though it says domain lock off and private registration off. iCann.com and whois still shows clienttransferprohibited. We had to call in several times to resolve and they unlocked another domain after phonetically spelling out the domain and confirming the domain with them. GLHF Tip for consumers:Don't use them. They steal because they know no government agency will hold them accountable. Bait & switch. Beware fraud. Tip for consumers:Do not use this site. They advertise domain names for as little as 9.99 but that is not true. Everything defaults to automatic billing, and once NetworkSolutions.Com gets your debit card info they hyperinflate with excess charges, and will bill you of things you did not order. BEWARE. Do not give these people your credit card info. Check their review and the Better Business Bureaus and you won't make the mistake of getting ripped off by this organization. Networksolutions is so poor. About zero customer support but extraordinary high fees. Totally ridicilous. They charge about 3 - 5 times what other regsitrars take while their support is basically none existent. They are only good in making up funny fees and keeping you at long by not responding to inquiries. Avoid by any means
As an owner of a digital agency we work with several website hosts. Network Solutions is definitely near the bottom. Their support is horrendous. You are ALWAYS on hold for 30 minutes. Then you get a glorified sales person they are trying to convert into tech support. There are many other hosts that do a much better job than Network Solutions. Keep shopping. Tip for consumers:Support is not great Products used:Hosting, SSL Service Value Quality
Network Solutions did a great job rewriting parts of my website for SEO purposes. Zabrina (I'm not certain how she spells her name) did the work and explained to me how to track the results. She provided friendly, excellent service. Products used:Website services Service Value Quality
The last few support calls to NS were much better than a few years ago, yet there still is a wide variance in the knowledge & customer service quality from one rep to the next. Hang up and call back if your rep seems to be leading you down a wrong path. Tip for consumers:Hang up and call back if the Tech Support Rep seems to be leading you down a wrong path. You guys should work on your customer care. Otherwise a very good company!
I recently changed my website hosting and management to Network Solutions (web.com). They offer timely, clearly explained and friendly service. They helped me to develop and secure my new website in a couple of weeks and sold me the best (not excessive) services for my needs. Tip for consumers:Considering their SEO services too. They take money from your account after the domain has been inactive for months. Won't refund you, make you call their hotline phone number to delete your account AND THE NUMBER DOES NOT WORK. REFUSE TO GIVE REFUND OR DELETE ACCOUNT. TERRIBLE. AVOID. OVERPRICED, MOST COMPETITORS ARE BETTER. THEY ARE SO SKETCHY THE BUSINESS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED.
I couldn't reset my password and kept getting 'service not available' messages. So, I reached out through the chat function and got a friendly Indian guy. He only had a very narrow script to follow, and after trying the same thing 5 different ways, he redirected me to the online portal to open up a ticket with Tier 2. The only problem was that I needed to have a working login ---which was way I opened the ticket in the first place. So - I started all over with phone support. Spent another hour on the phone, tried the same 5 things over and over. The FINALLY created an escalation ticket (S-*******) and told me that someone would contact me 'SOON' A week later, I called back in and the ticket was marked 'fixed' - with no notification to me. However, when I tried to access my account, it still didn't work. So, I ended back in Tier 1 support trying the same 5 things. ARGH! Switching away ASAP
My company has been a customer for a few years. Network Solutions has consistently provided excellent and prompt work. I am very impressed with their ability to customize and design changes with a minimum amount of instruction. Service Value Quality
Network Solitons is undoubtedly the most egregiously unethical and deplorable company in existence. Their audacious tactics involve surreptitiously turning on auto-renewal for their services, entangling unsuspecting customers in a never-ending cycle of exorbitant charges without their consent. With blatant disregard for basic principles of consumer rights and transparency, Network Solitons displays a contemptible lack of integrity by preying upon their own clients. Moreover, the quality of their service plummets to unimaginable depths, leaving customers stranded with subpar resources and abysmal support. The sheer audacity and malevolence displayed by this maleficent enterprise is unparalleled, cementing them as the epitome of corporate cruelty and deceit. Unscrupulous practices such as these tarnish the already dubious reputation of the tech industry, reaffirming Network Solitons' status as an abominable entity deserving universal condemnation. I've had my domain, email and hosting with NetworkSolutions for many years. My hosting presence has been minimal - just a one-pager with my resume and contact info. I use NetSol primarily for the domain and email. I've had very few problems of any kind with them in terms of performance. Everything just works. I can count on one hand the number of times I've had to call them with technical problems, and they've generally been able to correct any problem promptly. From that aspect I've been very happy with them. I did have one bad experience with support shortly after web.com bought them. I was clearly speaking to an outsourced team in another part of the world. In addition to the language barrier, their knowledge was lacking and their attitude was not good. Earlier today I read many horror story reviews about how they've changed since being bought by Web.com, and it made me very nervous. But when I called to renew my service, I got the same quality, all-American support team I usually get. Perhaps the outsourcing occurs only during overnight hours (for American time zones). You may want to try reaching them during Eastern Time zone hours of 8am-10pm. I recently discovered I'm way overpaying for domain registration, and I may switch to another registrar soon. However, sometimes it's worth the extra $ for the peace of mind and stability I've had with them. I don't want to invite trouble... UPDATE: I spoke with customer service today because my email wasn't working. This was after renewing my domain and changing my service package to drop the hosting. The rep was able to see what the problem was in less than a minute and it was resolved in about 5 minutes. I asked about the high domain cost, and she said I now qualify for their gold-level service (or something like that) and gave me a renewal for $9.99! It seems that if you want discounts, you need to call them and ask for it (which has been my exp. In the past too, but I had a 3-yr package and forgot about that). I also asked about the horror stories I'd read about, and she said that when they were bought by web.com they set up an overseas call center for off-hours and holidays; however that did not work out (clearly) and now everything is handled from their 2 support centers in Pennsylvanis and Florida. I did notice that most of the bad reviews were 3-4 years old, which supports her story. Given all this, I upped my rating to 5 stars, because I got a competitive price and am reassured that they're still providing the great support I've come to expect. And I'm glad I don't have to move my domain, because that could open up a whole new can of worms. In summary, I highly recommend NetworkSolutions for domains and email. I don't have experience with them for web hosting, so I can't comment on that service. Tip for consumers:Try calling support between 8 am and 10 pm Easter Time (New York). This always connects me to their very high quality American support team. I'm guessing that the outsourcing to other countries where the staff is not knowledgeable and has a poor attitude only occurs during the wee hours of ET. Service Value Quality
After being a customer for 24 years, I tried to transfer a domain name to another perosn. The web site advice USELESS, and the CHAT assistance marginally better. Do not use network solutions, they will steal your money without your consent! This is the worst service I have ever used and the customer service is absolutely awful. They STOLE money from me and I will be involving my bank and the police of this fraudulent behaviour! I was charged a service after cancelling. I tried to contact online support and the person on the chat left both times without helping. I tried calling customer service, I had to wait 30 minutes and was disconnected twice. When I finally got through to someone the third time after waiting 30 minutes again, I then had to be directed to someone else who said someone made a mistake and did not cancel the services. They said they could not refund me (this was a day after my account was charged). They stole my money, did not refund me and took up over two hours of my work day. I am extremely upset, frustrated and angry with this company. I pray this company gets shut down so no one else has to have money taken from them! Tip for consumers:Do not use this service! This company is despicable. They allowed my domain name americanroofremodel.com to be released and purchased by a domain shark who is trying to charge my small company thousands of Dollars to get back. This company had the nerve to say they didn't have a revised card on file to renew our domain….however they billed me for other services all along on our credit card, the email from them stating our domain was going to expire that had my personal name, and our web.com username on it was a phishing email, however it was not as all the links brought you to their actual web address. I replied back to this email stating our card is in file and to please bill it so our domain is renewed, but they said it was a phishing email, I am an internet savvy person, it was not. In addition this was the only email received about our expiring domain and they said it was fake. So if it were fake that means we received no email, no phone call, no warning whatsoever about our domain, and all emails tied too it literally given away, and all they could say was "it was our fault". Remember they were billing us for other services all along on our card that never expired. Right now my small company is in disarray all because this horrible excuse for a company either got hacked, or accidentally gave our domain away. Do yourself a favor and avoid web.com, domain.com, or network solutions as they are all the same at all costs. Please please do not go through what our company has to go through I beg you. After the death of our primary contact person, I tried to get in touch with Network Solutions to update the email on the (nonprofit business) account. The experience has taken more than 10 calls and emails over what is now a three month period (because everything is "wait 24-48 hours for a response"). I was told to fill out a Primary Email Change request, then I was told to submit a change of ownership form. I had to submit multiple personal and organizational documents (expected) but never told why so I would get a response back that the Tax form was too old (which made me think they were looking to prove the company was still operating) so I would submit something different from the list but be told that the address wasn't the same (mind you, we're a nonprofit so half of these are public documents anyway. I would call the Customer Service desk, and the chat feature online but they're all different departments and do not have a way to communicate with one another so every time I'd connect with someone we'd start at square one. We've been a customer for a while (over 15 years), there really should've been a better way to help us out in a time of need.
