  • Fabric.com Review

I am corporate client Fabric.com with good volume of purchase. I did received my merchandise on time but there was an issue with international shipping specification that i could not fix after talking 25 minutes to service clerk and no follow up call from manager ( they promise a 24 hrs return call policy). Still no resolution after 2 weeks. My comapny is hotel textile supplier since 1996 in Montréal, Canada Tip for consumers:none Products used:fabrics Service Value Shipping Quality
As I was cutting I noticed a large portion of the fabric was defective on the fold. Fabric.com said they would not take it back because it was cut-were they going to sell defective material to someone else? Probably. They offered me a refund of one yard but I don't have sufficient material to make the dress. They folks lost a customer today. I would rather deal with honorable folks Tip for consumers:if you buy fabric be sure to open it and examine it carefully. they shipped me seconds (defective material) and would not take it back because it was cut Products used:purchased a few yards of material to make a dress Service Value Returns Quality
I am so disappointed in this company. We ordered 25 yards of a Shumachur fabric. When it came, we saw that the pattern was off by 2"-5" as it went down the roll, it got stretched and got worse. When we tried to get a refund, they saw the pictures of it being unmatched, yet they refused to refund us. I am infuriated, for the lack of accountability! We cannot make a curtains that have a matching grid pattern with this fabric. Also, the fabric stretches and is also of poor quality as if made in China.
I ordered 4 one yard cuts of cotton prints. All were cut so badly that both edges were crooked and off by as much as 3 inches on each end. One piece was 3 inches short. Plus the quality was not very good. I've never had an experience like this before when ordering fabric. Tip for consumers:Look for fabrics that have a manufacturer that you know. I have been waiting for weeks to receive a large order of fabric (15 yds) to recover my new outdoor patio chairs so they can withstand the elements. I ordered it well in advance so it would be done prior to a party I am having in late June. I checked through all my emails but got nothing after the initial confirmation with a ship date. I logged into my account only to find that my order had been CANCELLED and when I called the customer service rep said they only had the fabric in 1-2 yard increments, which is a total joke! Now, thanks to them, I have lost every other opportunity I had to get this fabric elsewhere as it is now sold out from all other sources and I will not be able to use my new outdoor furniture all summer. I am absolutely livid. This is grossly inept on their part, so beware to anyone who has the audacity to believe their order will be fulfilled by Fabric.com at all, much less in a timely manner. Had they, at a minimum, had the decency to alert me within 24 hours that they did not even have the stock they advertised on their website I would not be in this situation now. Service
    (1) All three of these fabrics were inexpensive, and I think at least two were on clearance, so I have no complaint towards the company, but they were not completely color-fast. Not to such a degree that their attractiveness was impaired, but when I prewashed them all separately, all left varying degrees of either light gray or pink (the middle one) on Shout color-catcher papers. When I rinsed the left one and middle one again, however, Shout papers remained white. The fabric on the right, however, still returned the paper with a faint grayish tinge, even when washed again, with a delicate detergent, the next day. I will be careful when I wash the garments I plan to make with these fabrics, avoiding washing for the first few times with color-susceptible white underwear, for instance. (2) I had to call customer service during the ordering process, and their representative, a man, was very pleasant and helpful. No long wait to speak to a human being, either! (3) I ordered on 2/15, and by 2/16 got a notice that the order had been processed, giving a UPS tracking number. A few days after that, UPS tracking was saying that it was on its way and would be delivered the next day. I was delighted, but the next time I checked tracking, the progress line had greatly regressed and there was no indication of when to expect delivery. There appeared to be no way I could contact UPS and get an answer from a human as to the reason, but after a while (thanks to the covid-19 vaccines being delayed, I realized that it must be due to the winter storms disrupting things between the East and West Coasts. The package arrived on the 23rd. (4) While I didn't use a yardstick to measure, the fabrics seem to have been given a generous cut, and they were all whole pieces. On the whole, I am very pleased and expect to be ordering from fabric.com again. Added later: I believe that shipping was free for orders of $49 and above. Tip for consumers:If you buy cheap fabric, especially in black, red, or orange (here or ANYwhere, probably!), it might be a good idea to prewash before cutting; check for color bleeding, using Shout color catchers. These three colors can be unstable once in a while (I have experience with a red cotton print from another company). The fabrics I ordered at fabric.com were all polyester knits and the faint "bleeding" did not seem to affect the attractiveness of their design. Products used:Free shipping for orders or $49 and over, I think. They do do refunds, but not for certain things, like sample swatches, and I don't know for how much. Shipping is said to be from 3 to 10 days. My order was shipped out the very next day. I can hardly wait to sew using all 3 of the fabrics I ordered, but tax time is keeping me busy just now!
I could buy 1 yd. Minky fabric for $16.99 or less now you want to charge $32.00 a yard by spoon flower. No one can afford those prices and there fabric is not near the quality that I got from fabric.com. I'm looking for a new vendor to purchase my fabric from. Sorry it will not be you. You should have kept them open so we could still purches from them. They sold to the whole nation. Shame on you! I don't have a receipt because it was months ago I purchesed it but the one on the left is the thicker one and the right is spoon flower which is very thin and has a crazy nap.. Far Too Much merchandise marked "unavailable for sale". Every amazon store is Void of any real practical management. Retail managers who know how to manage a store do not post what is "unavailable" for sale. Fabric.com is as poorly managed as amazon.com, user interface has gone to crap. All you get for your trouble of expressing how difficult it is to shop their ill managed stores are condescending, patronizing, placatory excuses and empty promises. FIX YOUR STORES. Tip for consumers:Just go find a fabric store that posts fabric that is in stock and available for sale and skip fabric.com
I have been ordering from here for several years and have yet to find anything to be disappointed in. The customer service is great, prices are amazing, shipping time is WOW! The only time I have had to seek out other sites is only when a fabric I need is out of stock. Fabric.com is one of my top 2 go-to fabric websites. I cannot say enough good things about them Tip for consumers:Price comparison will almost never be necessary when you go through this site Products used:Fabrics Service Value Shipping Quality
Fabric.com constantly cancels items from my order the day after the order is placed. They offer to replace the item with something of equal or lesser value. They send the notice after the sale is over. How ridiculous. Tip for consumers:Don’t count on receiving what you order. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
I tried ordering from them for our Dept. They will not return my calls or emails. They never removed our tax seeing that we are exempt and did not apply the coupon. I have left voicemails and emails asking for a new invoice but no response. I'm not sure how they are in business. I would give it 0 stars if I could
I have ordered several swatches now and placed two large fabric orders. I was reticent to buy swatches at $3 a pop (+ shipping) and was shocked/disappointed to have spent that much for each 8" x 8" swatch -- it is especially difficult to determine what the fabric actually looks like if there is any sort of pattern. I ended up placing two separate orders for fabric (one at the beginning of January and another at the end of January). For each order, they notified me about a week after I placed my order to let me know that they were unable to fulfill part of my order. For the fabric I have received, they cut it very diagonally (not straight across), so it made it difficult for my sewing project and I ended up having to cut quite a bit off of the end. I have wasted way too much time and money with this company. There are better and more reliable companies out there.
Customer Service don't try to help - instead "I do apologise, but i am unable to make any recommendation' and 'I do apologise ma'm' when I asked some questions about different types of fabric. I know this is a way out suggestion: but maybe they should train their staff in some product knowledge?
I sew. Sometimes I seek designer fabrics from Brunschwig or Scalamandre. But for basic ticking, notions and other sewing supplies, Fabric.com is perfect. They have a wonderful array of casual and hearty materials at affordable prices. I used their ticking in each bedroom of a summer house... coordinated with the wall colors. I unreservedly can endorse this company... the business and shipping end is as equally efficient and reliable as is the fabric quality. Five stars.
I have a small business and buy lots of fabric from fabric.com. Sometimes it is not what I wanted and I returned it. I have UPS tracking and know when the orders are received back at the warehouse. However, I have been waiting for refunds, some as long as 8 weeks, on about 7 different returns. CS people are nice and say they escalate my issue to a manager, but I haven't recieved several refunds. Be careful when ordering... make sure it is the fabric you REALLY want, because you can return it but not necessarily get your money back. Tip for consumers:Do not believe the 5-7 business days refund policy. Keep all your documentation on when returns were received at the warehouse and write down when, who, and what your CS calls were about. I've made several large orders with fabric.com. There have been some issues that have been frustrating to me. I ordered and they waited about a week to ship it and by then they must have sold the fabric I ordered to somebody else because it was no longer available. They apologized and refunded me. I was mad really mad. They took the time to make it right with me and gave me a credit. I have ordered from them several times since and have had ZERO problems. I appreciate the fact that they are making the effort to improve. Great job fabric.com I will continue to purchase from you! Tip for consumers:Give open honest feedback they listen and work to improve Products used:Fabric
Warning, they will send you emails every 4 hours and will not respect unsubscribe requests. I even had a customer support person say they would remove me from the email lists and I still get emails every day. At least it's not 6 times a day any more. Do not give them your email address. I've been using Fabric.com for over a year. I recently placed an order and received an exception stating that one of the fabrics I chose was no longer available, for me to choose another one. Lace is hard to duplicate with size of pattern, color and price point. I found one that was 22 cents more and they told me I could not sub for it because it cost 22 cents more. Are you kidding me? This was my 4 th purchase in 2 weeks ( I'm working on a project) any way She wanted me to cancel and reorder, I had 4 other fabrics on this order. Well I canceled all right! Did not reorder and probably won't after their treatment and service. So Disappointed Tip for consumers:Do not purchase if there’s under 10 available Products used:None canceled the whole order
I placed an order from their Friday sale on August 6th and used Amazon Pay to pay for it. By August 13th I still had not received an order confirmation or shipping information so I called customer service to find out that my order never actually went through, but they still charged my credit card linked to my Amazon Pay account in full (just under $200). The person I spoke to said they spoke with a supervisor and the refund was being expedited. Yesterday I receive an email about a $16.00 refund, so I called first thing this morning about it, only to find out that this refund was from shortages from my previous order made in July. I was told that while my larger refund was escalated to a supervisor it would still take another 7 - 14 business days to process. That with the delays of 7-10 days in packing and shipping orders is enough of a sign for me to close my account here and take my business elsewhere. Maybe don't charge the credit card until you have the order measured out and packed like other fabric stores do. Tip for consumers:Try to find what you are looking for somewhere else. I tried to cancel my order after reading other reviews. They sent it days and days later and sent me an email after saying it was too late to cancel the order (of course I didn't believe them). Then, they sent me the wrong fabric-something similar but not the right one so that makes me think it was not a mistake. I'm trying to return it now-lets see how that goes!
I have been buying from fabric.com for years. However, I won't be any longer. I placed an order on January 19 for 6 yards of fabric which the website showed was available. I made my purchase through paypal, using a debit card because trying to add a card on their website to pay with will not work. I was notified on 1/23 the fabric was not available, and asked would I like to substitute for another or refund. I told them to refund, they indicated I was due $116.00. Here it is February 18 and I still do not have my refund. I called several times, kept being told they were short staffed, and they had issues with their software when dealing with payments made through paypal. I finally filed a case with paypal to see if I can get something done. This is really hard on a person who operates a small business from their home, I need that $116.00. I had to refund my customer since the fabric was not available, and i still do not have my $116.00 I am due since the fabric was not in stock. It is beyond ridiculous at this point. Tip for consumers:Don't do it. If there is a problem you may never get your refund. Products used:na Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
Ordered 12 yards of fabric for some outdoor furniture. Dropped off the fabric to the person who was going to sew the fabric. A week later she started working on the project and informed me that they only sent 4 yards and 12 inches of the fabric (paid over $460.00). There was never an email, phone call, etc. letting us know that they didn't send all of the fabric. I called customer service and they didn't have any notes, etc. as to why we didn't receive all of the fabric. They also didn't have enough to send me the remaining fabric to complete the job. So disappointed as this needed to be completed and now we cannot find the fabric and we have just part of what we need. Never again! Service Value Shipping
I had bought 27 yards of canvas that had small defects throughout the roll. I didn't bother to call them since I had already cut, washed and was ironing it when I noticed the 1/16 to 1/8th inch defects. I wrote a bad review. Well I was shocked when Fabric.com reached out to me about my review. They checked the fabric on the floor and sure enough their's also had the defects. They have offered to send me new fabric or a refund. I was stunted! Awaiting my new fabric, customer service definitely are doing their best for me! Thank you! Hopefully the new fabric will be just fab! Products used:30 yards on 12oz canvas fabric Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
I ordered 2 yards of Liberty of London crepe de chine fabric during a 50% off sale, paying $31.75 per yard. After several days, I received an email informing me that my order was cancelled because the fabric is no longer available. I checked Fabric.com's website and saw the same fabric available at full price, $63.50 per yard. I emailed and called Customer Service and asked them to ship my fabric at the discounted price. They refused, but told me I could place a new order for the fabric at full price. I asked to speak to a manager, and was told that my request will be "elevated" to a decision making team and that I would be conacted withing 48 hours. I was never contacted. I called Customer Service once again and was told that my request was again being "elevated" and to expect resolution in 24 hours. I have not yet been been contacted though it's been days since the promise was made. Clearly, this is not a life or death situation--just an example of very poor customer service and perhaps a little bait and switch. Wish I could assign "no stars". Tip for consumers:Shop elsewhere. Products used:None. Fabric was never sent. Service
After a second order I experienced the same situation. Original delivery 2 days but changes to 5 more days from original delivery date. Causes me to miss gift dates. Tip for consumers:Don’t believe original delivery dates. Probably will take 5-7 days longer. Service Value Shipping Quality
