Too bad you have to leave a star to comment. Whatever is the opposite of a star is what they should get. They are a totally fraudulent company. Website looks slick but that's just to lure you in. My order was delayed for months. When I cancelled the order, it arrived a few days later. Moldy, wet mushy potatoes and other trash. Their return policy is set up as a scam; really the whole place is. As you can see by the tons of bad reviews, they are horrible to deal with and send worthless junk.
They don't stand behind thier products that they ship even when they send the wrong items. These guys have the worst customer service I've ever had the pleasure trying to deal with. I order privet hedge they sent Siberian elm and won't stand behind it because it been over a year nobody can tell the have the wrong items in that time frame when they sell root stock? They refuse too make it right so I'm gonna have to deliver these back in person I guess! Tip for consumers:It’s not worth it go somewhere local or more reputable online these guys are shady Products used:Bought privet hedge received Siberian elm Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
I brought 3 Giant Asian Pear from Direct Gardening Last year, on there website it's said this Pear tree produced 3 pounds per fruit and they're self fruit. The tree doing good, but they have thorn and leaves are very small and the leaves color is purple and red. I messaged them but they never answer my question they just give an excuse. I'm thinking it was a Bradford pear. They're dishonest. Do not buy from this place Tip for consumers:Stay away Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
Ordered plants on April 29th. Still not here on June 9th. If they ship now they will probably all be dead when they get here because of the heat. Sent multiple emails. 3 weeks ago they told me they were processing the order and shipping it. Phone always busy so you can't talk to anyone. The one star is only because they do have some cool plants, you just can't get them. No customer service.
I ordered some creeping thyme online. There was no email verification and when I called several times, they could not tell me the status of my order. So far, it has been almost 3 weeks and still no product and I am about to miss my planting window. The one star is only for the poor woman answering the phone who was very nice but her computer provided absolutely no information. She was most apologetic but her company sucks. I guess my funds are tied up. I will have to check with the bank.
Is there a way we can sue this company for stealing our monies? How many customers ave they fooled of taking monies and delivering trash. I mailed the original shipping label for replacement as per their policies after sending me trash dead plants last June. They emailed me and replied replacement will be this fall. Then they sent a card with a different response that they will mail replacement on Spring 2022. In other words after ordering on March, they will probably send after a year. Maybe never and they are laughing their way to the bank. Products used:Nothing Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
Good: They keep their promises, and replaced the plants without issues. Plants are very reasonably priced. Compared $8 with $25 at other places. Bad: Takes forever to get the plants. All shipping materials need to be kept in order to return the item. Returned shipping is on the buyer (cost me over $10 to return). Ugly: The first shipment arrived dead, the replacement was alive but not that much better. Conclusion: I am giving them 3 stars to account for the combination of dead plants (1 star) and returns (4 stars). Buy at your own risk. There are people with 5 stars experiences with this company, so it's like buying a lottery ticket. If you are patient and willing to take the chance... Tip for consumers:Don't!! Plants came dead, almost 2 months after being ordered. Shriveled and dry, it was a pathetic site. This company should not do business or stay on their clearly mom & pop scale. They cannot keep up, nor do they have the product and distribution down well enough to try to be national. I told them to keep my $50 from the order - they need it more than I do.
I ordered $400 worth of trees plants etc. 8 wks ago... I just received a post card stating they will ship spring of 2021... next year. No additional information except it looks like they may ship one tree. If I have any questions send the post card back... what? Asked for a refund... nope they will place me on a list for next year. I need my stuff this year. From what I'm reading I'm sure they will arrive dead anyway... stay away from these crooks. The BBB should shut them down.
I waited 8 weeks for them to ship me garbage. Of 5 items, 1 did not ship at all, 2 were substituted to different bulbs (out of season in June), 2 arrived in poor condition because they used the slowest postage option available. DirectGaradening.com keeps refusing to issue a refund until I pay return shipping on the goods I didn't order. Hoping BBB and credit card complaint get my refund.
Premium prices for tiny bits of planting materials. Most arrived bare root and dried out. The ornamental grass ($16!) was a one inch plug that was so rootbound it will never flourish. Their return policy is impossible so you are just throwing your money away. Great product descriptions but don't trust their deer resistant recommendations. I spent a few hundred dollars on plant debris!
I purchased the giant Asian pear from this company for my NC home and a 3 in one pear for my sister in Africa 3 months ago, and once I received it (after a month and 2 weeks of waiting) It arrived COMPLETELY dead. Contacted customer service, and was told you can only receive a refund during the first month of purchase. I told them I didn't receive it until after a month and they said "not our problem it's the shipping company" and hung up. NEVER purchase from here. Scammers and rude. Tip for consumers:The tip to use this site is NOT using this site.
I purchased begonia and geranium plugs at the beginning of the year - I was more than delighted with my purchased - a young lady called Hannah added to my overall positive experience - The plugs were delivered as anticipated - they grew well - they provided a great show of colour from mid July to DAte. In fact I am preparing beds for spring and am having to dig up begonnias in full bloom. More than pleased with my purchases. Will be ordering more for next year Products used:Plants Service Value Shipping Quality
3 beautiful starter cactus plants with 4 to 5 stalks in soil that has already started to divide at top of the hard to find Yellow color cactii blooms. New modern day packaging in heavy duty green plastic bag with each cactii in their own celluloid preformed envelope that kept pot firmly in place, lightweight, and no paper to unpack. Completely happy - I did not expect blooming size, but will bloom nicely this holiday season. Like the bonus bulbs. Saw so many bad reviews, but completely satisfied here.
I would give 0 stars if I could! Ordered Purple fountain grass. Order came Dead and would not grow after it took 8 weeks to be delivered. Emailed cust service with no reply. Mailed backed receipt for a refund with no response. Only thing this company is good for is taking your money. They DO NOT HONOR Warranty. Tip for consumers:Shop somewhere else! It took 3 months to get my order. I'm in Texas, so we need to plant early, that didn't happen. I got about 50% yield from what they sent me. After a bitter complaint, they sent me another delivery gratis, with the added present of a highly poisonous plant... to dogs, cats, children & humans. Oddly, THAT PLANT, arrived in pristine condition... hmmmmm. My neighbor planted it in a place no one can get hurt by it. Just don't use them.
I ordered a peace rose on may 11 june first you guys charged my credit card on june 7th on june 20th i finally talked with someone who looked up my order said it was in processing and will be shipped within the wrrk July 14 still no rose. I ordered this rose for a memorial for July 20th PLEASE GET ME MY ROSE oreder # ******* *******@comcast.net
Never buy from Direct Gardening. The items they send are either dead or die shortly after. I asked to cancel a second order I placed shortly after my first order (I should have read reviews on them first), but got nowhere with cancellation. Plants in second order primarily dead/dried out. Although I asked for a refund, I don't hold out much hope. As another reviewer stated--an expensive lesson but one I won't repeat, as I will never buy from them again.
We ordered 5 Corydalis Blue Line plants at $11.00 each. What we received was dirt. There was no sign of any plant material in any of these packages. I asked for a refund... but was told I could have merchandise credit or new plants. This company will take your money gladly but will not refund any. I will not purchase from them again. Buyer beware! Tip for consumers:Buyer Beware!!! Products used:Plants Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
Ordered potatoes that took 1 month to get. The potatoes were clearly packaged completely rotten, and mushy. They purposely packaged them this way, and they don't care. Customer service is almost non-existent, and takes about 10 days for a response each time you send a reply. They provide no shipping information, and lie about orders. This company is a complete fraud, run by scammers. They blame there terrible business practices on COVID-19. I would not trust this company, and I would RUN away from them.
I bought last spring about $150 in several orders. A few items were doa. I was not upset considering the prices and I slotted for this when ordering. 2017 rolled in and most all survived the Iowa winter and are now budding. I had about 35 different varieties of plants. I planted 7 bushes from a nursery and 2 of those did not survive winter. They are slow to ship and 2 weeks was the norm which for Iowa in April was probably best. I ordered yet another $20 worth of tree shrubs again this April. 8 items for 30 including shipping.
Will never order from them again. Most of the plants arrived dead. Some of this could have been fedex because they are extremely bad at delivering and I had to call them to find out what was up with my package. But direct gardening would not replace even 1 because I didn't have the original records from the package. I had all the other conformation emails. Very poor customer service. I will never order from anyone associated with them again.
They waited until July to send my March order. It takes a week or more to get an email response from them and they don't list a phone number. I asked for a refund or for them to actually ship my order countless times between April and May. Of course no refund and I'm never given shipping information. I had already given up on them and disputed the charge by the time plants arrived dried up and dead. Worthless and a waste of time.
My plants are dead! I spent a lot of money for dead plants. This is bull crap and I will not be ordering for them again. I ordered them back in may and i just received them today. The ones that show up on time still haven't done anything Products used:Plants Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
I ordered red birds in a tree and never heard from them until more than a month later when I emailed them asking where my order was. All of a sudden, my credit card was charged, and sometime later, I received dried up, absolutely dead plants. It would have been funny if I hadn't paid them actual money. I contacted them immediately and was told to return them within 10 days in the original packaging and send them with a return receipt. I did EXACTLY what they told me to do, and I never heard from them until I yet again emailed them. I was pretty much told to f off. If someone out there wants to start a class-action lawsuit, I'd be willing to go in on it. I don't have proof of purchase because I never received an order verification. They probably do this on purpose. My credit card, however, was charged, and I have the USPS return receipt. If you want to be parted from your money to receive nothing of value, then by all means order from them. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
